Steven opened his eyes, expecting to see his room, but instead saw some sort of multi-colored void. This, understandably, freaked him out. He freaked out even more when a voice came from behind him.
“Hello, Steven Universe!”
“What? Who’s there?!”
“Oh, sorry, just let me…” someone floated until they were in front of him. They-she(?) looked young, younger than him, and had incredibly long pink hair. She wore a fancy-looking white dress and had an awkward smile on her face. “I’m, well, the being formerly known as Madoka Kaname. Oh, that was fun to say! Anyway, I have an offer for you. It’d be a pain in the butt to explain it all now, but basically, I exist across all of space and time, and I was drawn to your dimension out of curiosity. Anyway, I’m offering to let you go back in time! You’d stay in your current body, so there’d be two of you.”
“What’s the catch?” Steven asked, eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“Smart. Never trust magical beings offering you miracles. Oh, I’m getting off track. The closest thing to a catch here is that you’d be taking me-human form me, that is-and my friends with you. What do you say? I can give you some time to think if you want. I can also try to answer any questions you have.”
“What will happen to everyone in my current timeline?”
“That’s fair. It’ll disappear. You’ll be re-writing it.”
“I’ll do it. My biggest concern was leaving everyone behind.”
“Great!” And with that, there was the sensation of falling, falLING, F A L L I N G . . .
And he landed on the floor, along with the sound of several other people.
