Chapter Text
Yaz’s alarm went off, and she woke to gentle sunlight streaming through the window and warming her face. The figure next to her gently stirred at the noise, a lithe arm moving to hold her a little tighter.
She managed to sit up a bit, taking a moment to appreciate the Doctor’s blonde hair strewn out on the pillow, illuminated almost like a halo. She studied her features, soft in her sleep. Oh, she was beautiful. Everything from the prominent smile lines around her eyes to the small frown lines in her brow- it was all evidence of a life so thoroughly lived. So loved. The Doctor really was like an angel; Yaz’s own personal miracle.
She blindly reached over to her nightstand, turning off the alarm. Settling back down, she tucked the Doctor further into her chest, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. They could afford a few more hours; they had all the time in the universe, after all.
