Summary
This must have been Rhys’s bedroom, for he was curled up tight in the bed, clutching blankets around him as he mumbled softly in his sleep. He was surrounded by a minefield of tissues and his eyes were tinged with red. He rolled over again– that must have been the noise from earlier– sniffing softly as he pulled the large comforter tighter around himself. He looked small in the lavish bed, his hair messy and splaying blond strands along the pillows. I was expecting a trap, not…this. Joe could hardly find words to describe the man before him beyond small. It was a sharp contrast that entranced him.
Or: Rhys disappears from Joe’s life for a week and Joe finds himself consumed with the man as a result. He lets his curiosity get the best of him, and finds Rhys in a surprisingly vulnerable state.
