Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

It’s quiet.

You’re sitting inside the tub in your house’s bathroom, alone.

In your hands you have a cup full of assorted pills from all over the house. You don’t remember what half of these are for anymore. You don’t care either.

You’ve been sitting for a while now, wondering when you’d be exhausted enough to be able to finish it out without the fear interfering; it was enough. You were sick and tired of being sick and tired, and for once were meaning to take it into your own hands and fix it, no matter how.

You pick up pills, bringing the cup to your mouth-

–"Wait."

You drop it, startled at the very deep voice of what your racing mind said was an intruder, and quickly get up and check- as you could swear you heard something–someone?

–"Who- how-??"

–"It does not matter who or how," -he interrupts- "but why." You see the screen on your phone, lying forgotten on the floor, light up, and get lost in the words.

–"Tell me, child. Is this what you really want?" -He asks, sternly- "Is this really the way?"

You look down. You've forgotten that he's an intruder, and dwell in what you were planning. –"M-Maybe...?" -You say, softly, lowering your head in shame- "I just want it to stop..."

–"Well, what if I could help?" You whip your head back and look at the screen. –"I know of a place where you won't have to worry about such mundane things." -He says - "You can connect with nature and forget about it all. What do you say?"

A hand darker than the night in your room is extended to you and you stare at it for a few seconds, a small smile breaking on your face as you give it a handshake; It suddenly tightens the grip in your hand, and pulls you in.
