You didn't remember anything. You woke up in a box, scared, and alone, though, you could hear something.
Talking.
Specifically, men talking.
You lifted your head, looking around drowsily. The voices began to grow louder as if they were walking towards your odd prison. Where the hell were you, and were these people threats?
"Shut the shuck up, Greenie!" The loudest and most prominent voice shouted. You flinched, startled. Pushing yourself off of the floor, you groaned and wiped off your pants. The voices went quiet for a moment.
"Did you guys hear that?" One asked. This one had an accent. "It sounded like the person in the box."
They knew you were up. What were you supposed to do, besides painfully pull yourself out of the box and onto the wooden platform? A group of people stood around, some turning to face you. A nervous pit formed in your stomach as you surveyed the group. Who were they? They all looked curious, except for one: a blonde boy with angry-looking eyebrows. You suddenly felt smaller under his gaze.
"What are you looking at, Greenie?" The guy hissed.
The person beside him slapped his arm lightly, frowning. This one had dark hair and a more tanned complexion than the rest. His eyes were softer than the blondes.
"Leave them alone, Gally," He said scornfully. "They just woke up. You were confused when you woke up, too."
The blonde scoffed. "Yeah, well, I wasn't staring at people as if I'd never seen another human before."
"Where am I?" You asked, feeling awkward interrupting them. Once you looked around, you saw gray, concrete walls lining the perimeter of the field. Poorly crafted buildings scattered around in between make-shift farms. The sun was high in the middle of the sky, signaling that it was around noon.
"You're in what we call the Glade. There are a few rules here that we need to go over in a little bit when you fully come to your senses," the nice one said softly. "Come on, I'll show you inside."
