Summary
Tim hits the bottom of the stairs with a solid thud, winging himself round the corner and nearly tripping down the hallway.
It had taken longer than he thought to get away from the first group of cultists and then one of them had slipped away and he needed to get there already--had to make sure everyone was safe. There were kids in there and Bernard and--
And no more people needed to get hurt.
He can spot the doorway now. There’s dim light and noise spilling from the room just past it. Can see the cultist run in and yell something unintelligible over the sounds of clamoring people and the rattle of metal and then he’s there he’s there and a shrill scream shreds through all the other noise and cuts him to the bone.
Or, in which Tim isn't fast enough to save Bernard from sacrifice.
