Work Text:
The moment we went through that portal I felt my life crashing down. We were all in shock, getting soaked in the rain. Gus started crying, but I just stood still, hearing all this voices screaming in my head.
Amity’s touch took me out of my state.
“Luz…?”, she said softly.
I put my hand on top of hers and squeezed it.
“No te preocupes batata, I’m gonna fix this.”
They followed me home, where my mom opened the door.
She hugged me like never before.
I really missed her.
We were all shaking and, even though mami prepared a bed for everyone, Amity slept with me, by my side. She was warm and soft, it made me feel safe, I really needed that.
But at the same time, I felt guilty for all this pain.
Our pain.
Would they ever forgive me for what I’ve done?
I glanced at my girlfriend, sleeping peacefully with her head on top of my chest, wondering if she’ll ever look at me the same.
If she knew…
Several months later-
“Niños, I’m going to the supermarket, who wants to tag along?”, mami asked entering the old shack we claimed as our own.
We really put a lot of effort into it.
Vee, Gus, Willow and Hunter raised their hands enthusiastically, running outside while fighting for the front seat.
“You are not coming mija?”
She looked a little worried.
“Yeah, I don’t really feel like it.”
“Well, it’s ok corazón, at least you are staying with Amity”, she said with a smile, “llámame cualquier cosa.”
Then she left.
I turned my head to face my beautiful girlfriend, only to find her looking at me with a disapproving expression.
“What?”, I asked walking up to her and placing my hands on her waist, pulling her closer.
“Why didn’t you want to go?”
I tilted my face and forced a smile.
“I just feel a little… tired, that’s all.”
She didn’t believe a word I said.
“You’ve been acting weird lately, you think I don’t notice?”
“Of course you do”, I laughed, “you are my awesome girlfriend.”
She blushed.
So cute.
“That’s not the point Luz”, she said with a serious face, “I would really love it if you talked to me batata, I want to help.”
I felt my tears falling slowly down my cheeks.
“Shit…”
I couldn’t hold it anymore.
Amity hugged me tightly while she caressed my, now, curly mid length hair.
“Shh, it’s ok”, she repeated again again while I cried nonstop on her shoulder, without letting go of her waist.
When my crying was stopping she pulled us apart. Then proceeded to take my face between her hands.
She looked at me with so much love and affection.
“Babe, you want to talk about it?”
“Not yet…”, I said looking down, avoiding her eyes.
“Ok”, she caressed my face with her thumb, “I understand, you’ll tell me when you are ready”.
And then she kissed my nose, both of my cheeks and my forehead.
We couldn’t stop giggling.
“You know what can make me feel better?”
“What?”
“Unos besitos de mi novia”
Amity raised her eyebrow.
“You are bold today Noceda”
“You bet Blight”
She pulled me closer and connected our lips. It was soft and slow and tender and amazing.
I started moving my mouth, and she hummed in approval.
Amity started walking until she had me against the wall, but it was still very soft.
Deep but soft.
We never kissed like this before.
Not that we kissed a lot, actually.
But still, it felt different.
She was pulling me closer, I was pulling her closer.
Now she had her hands on my waist, while I was messing her neatly styled hair.
I pulled away.
“Do you want to try something?”
“Hmm, maybe”, she smiled at me, her whole face red, “what is it?”
I carried her bridal style to the puff in the room, then I placed her on it, gently.
After that I jumped on top of her.
We couldn’t stop laughing.
“Luuuz, are you crazy?!”, she exclaimed with a smile.
“Yeah, crazy for you”.
“Oh, stop it”.
“I’m 100% serious Blight”, I kissed her nose, “you can’t even begin to imagine how much I love you”
Her eyes widened.
I realized what I said.
Oh-
“You love me…”, she repeated softly, if we haven’t been that close I wouldn’t had been able to listen.
“I mean, I-“
She kissed me.
Hard.
“I love you too”, Amity responded, trying to catch her breath.
And, even if I feel like I’m not worth it, I take my time assimilating those words.
At the end, moments like that are the ones that keep me going.
Her love its enough.
