He's nothing like his father, which should be a relief.
but if he had been more like him, selfish and cruel and power hungry, perhaps clary would have transferred her hate of Valentine unto Jace. at least she would be sure, if they looked and acted alike, that he was truly his son, her brother.
But Jace is unlike any person she has ever met, who could ever be so arrogant yet selfless, so brave yet fragile, he is a contradiction of things that make it hard for her to decide, is he more the person she likes or loves.
