Nile was walking a bit ahead of Joe and Nicky. Nile hadn't been paying attention to Joe and Nicky for some time because she had been listing to the newest album from an upcoming artist named Minnie but now that she didn't have more power on her phone or the Ipods, she started to listen to the conversation behind her.
Nicky: "Buildings?"
Joe: "No, animals?"
Nicky: "Be more specific."
Joe: "Farm animals?"
Nicky: "No.."
Nicky saw that Nile had stopped moving and was looking at them with a question mark on her face.
Nicky: "How was the music?"
Nile: "Better than I thought. Thinking of checking the artist out at a live concert in Dublin."
Joe with a smirk: "Dublin. That brings back memories."
Nile: "All cities do that with you."
Joe: "True. One day you can say the same."
Nicky: "You looked like you wanted to ask us something?"
Nile: "Why are you asking all these questions?"
Joe and Nicky both chuckled.
Joe: "just our way of passing the time while walking. You got your music, we got our little games."
Nicky: "One of our little games is trying to figure out what kinds of silly socks the other one is wearing."
Joe: "And the one who first guesses correctly is getting a free dinner."
Nicky: "So far, I have won 452 times while Joe only have won 233 times."
Joe: "It's 234 times. I won in Granada."
Nicky: "True, my mistake but it was share luck."
Joe: "A win is a win."
Joe placed a kiss on Nicky's cheek.
Nile: "Two questions about your game: how do you choose the socks and why silly socks?"
Joe: "Over the years we have collected over 200 pairs of silly socks. Before each mission, we each pick out 10 pairs, show them to the other, and put them in a bag. After showering, we each draw a pair of silly socks in the bag and put them on. Me in the bedroom, Nicky in the bathroom. Nicky is always the last one who draws because he is the only one who doesn't cheat in games. After we both have drawn, Nicky throws either the bag under the bed or we take it with us depending on how long a mission last."
Nicky: "And silly socks are funny. They can always make you smile during a mission or at home."
Nile: "That does sound fun. Can I join your game?"
Joe: "Sure, but you must put ten pairs in the bag."
Nile: "I will and you better prepare to lose even more in the future, Joe."
Joe: "Why? I got more experience than you."
Nile: "If you do have more experience how come that Nicky is winning big?"
Joe: "That is private information I'm first willing to share with you in 300 years' time."
Nile: "I think it has to do with that you don't like it when Nicky loses a round."
Joe: "I will answer that in 300 years' time."
Nicky gave Nile a smile that told her she was right about her assumption.
Joe: "So, ready to lose?"
Nile: "We will see who is the biggest loser of us two."
10 missions and 80 years later:
Nile: "Joe, are there ducks with rubber boots on their feet?"
Joe: "Yes, it's. Are you sure you aren't cheating?"
Nile: "Says the one who lets his better half win all the time."
Joe shook his head with a smile.
Joe: "Nicky, the score?"
Nicky: "I got 481, Joe 245, and Nile 246."
Nile: "Victory is mine. You owe me and Nicky dinner, Joe."
Nile starts to dance on the spot with a big smile.
Joe whispering to Nicky: "Are you sure she isn't cheating?"
Nicky: "Pretty sure. Nile, what do you call that dance?"
Nile: "That's my "Joe is a sore loser" dance."
Nicky laughed as Joe looked at him.
Nicky: "Sorry, it wasn't you who I was laughing at. It was the bird over there."
Nile: "Nicky, what shall we have for dinner? I suggest something deep-fried."
