Work Text:

“Hanahaki..? I can’t say I'm surprised..” you said to Sucrose as she was drooping her head towards the floor. She couldn’t lie to you; you were the one in grave danger. Why? Because your love for Albedo was strong, but you never thought he would’ve liked you back. It caused so much stress that you ignored him for a bit, which turned into... well, hanahaki disease.

“Well, hanahaki can go two ways, you can live with it until the petals fill up your lungs fully and suffocate you, or you can confess to your crush before it gets too bad. Y/N... you’re an amazing person, and I'm sure everyone would hate to see you go in such a hurtful way.” Sucrose stopped in her pace as she looked up at you.

“Well, he probably wouldn’t like me back, but as long as I get to see him happy, I can die happy.” Tears formed at your waterlines. Sucrose started to worry again.

“I-I’m sorry, if there was a true cure without you taking a risk of getting hurt, this could all be over with... I'm sorry. But... maybe you can confess to him? I-I know it’s risky, but if I'm being honest...” Sucrose stops for a moment while walking away from the empty crafting booth and drags you behind the building next to it.

“H-hey! Where are we going?” You ask confused, but that’s when you saw it. It was him. The ashy blonde was supposedly walking to the Knights of Favonius Headquarters. He was still as gorgeous as ever. That silky ash hair, those shining emerald eyes, that to-die-for skin, not a single imperfection layed upon him. He was a dream come true.

“I- you-” You stutter without making a clear sentence as you looked up at Sucrose.

“I-I’m sorry. I knew all along, I’ve known for a while. I was in your office one day and saw petals all over your desk, so I started snooping... I’m really sorry! I couldn’t contain myself...” Sucrose face saddens, the girl gloomy with regret.

“It’s okay, I shouldn’t have left everything out on display...” You admit but pause after realizing.

“Hey, wait, you’re Albedo’s assistant, right?” your eyes widened as she nodded.

“I’m sorry for making this so troublesome for you, but if I want to make my decision, can you mayb-”

That’s all you got out before you started coughing roughly, and it wasn’t quiet. Luckily, Mondstadt was quiet in the evening. Unluckily, Albedo caught the attention of the harsh sounds, though he couldn’t quite hear just WHO it was. So, he walked and peered around the corner, only to find you lying unconscious, flowers scattered everywhere, and Sucrose laying you on her lap to try and clear the petals away.

“Sucrose? What happened? Is Y/N okay?!” He sounded extremely worried as he kneeled to the ground and took your unconscious form from Sucrose’ arms.

“Y/N is okay, she should be up within half an hour. As for her internal state...” Sucrose looked away.

“What is it? What happened to make her like... this?” he asked, calming as he heard you were going to wake up eventually.

“I... shouldn’t be the one telling you. However, I do have a question, and I think she wanted me to ask you this,” Albedo gripped the fabric of your sleeves, turning anxious.

“How do you feel of Y/N?” the small alchemist continues. Albedo was shocked upon hearing her question... or rather, yours. He could feel his ears and cheeks burning, looking down at your sleeping face, so cute and undeniably attractive.

“I- well, as you know, I am not human. I never got a grip of how human emotions really worked. But when I met Y/N, I couldn’t understand what I was feeling, the thumping in my chest, the burning on my cheeks, the loss of focus every time she came to my mind. But I think I finally know. I’m in love with Y/N. And now, I know her situation too.” Albedo finishes.

Sucrose stops and is shocked with what she heard. Albedo is too, in love with you. Albedo and Sucrose partially gasped as you stirred from your sleep, shifting in albedo’s lap. You looked up, not to see Sucrose, but Albedo. The one you tried to stay away from for so long because you couldn’t sort out your own feelings.

“A-Albedo, I'm-” You stopped as you closed your eyes and tried sitting up, but you feel something pressing against your lips. A kiss. Albedo kissed you right then and there. There was nobody around except for Sucrose and she was crazy embarrassed as she turned away from the sight before her. The kiss was soft, delicate. Albedo treated you like porcelain, as if you would break if something was done too harshly. When you parted, you were in a daze, gazing at his dilated pupils, his eyes still as gorgeous as ever. Your eyes widened and you turned away, coughing harshly once again, but this time, it wasn’t a blood-stained Cecilia, Albedo’s favorite, it was instead, a gorgeous whole lavender heliotrope.

“Wow... a whole one, hm? A heliotrope seems to resemble that of which one has eternal love and devotion for another. And at that, it seems both of us have found what we truly hoped to find.” Albedo gazes at you. Adoring your beauty.

“Each other.” Sucrose blurts out. She’s smiling, hands held over her heart. She collected the flower petals and stashed them into a random beaker she stuffed into one of the pockets hanging from her belt.

“Ngh-” You wanted to speak, but you couldn’t because of the soreness of your throat. Coughing for a while caused some major problems. And the thorns that had torn the back of your throat had to also be fixed. You fell back into Albedo’s arms.

“don’t rush, darling” Albedo gave you a nickname. A traditional one, too. You always loved the traditional nicknames, and that made your heart explode. You were still drowsy by what had happened earlier, so you were slowly falling asleep. Albedo picked you up bridal style and took you to your small apartment that you were rarely in. He tucked you in and kissed your forehead, staying right by your side to make sure nothing happened for the rest of the night.

“Rest well, my dear Cecilia.” he said, but you unfortunately didn’t hear; he said it after you fell asleep. He took care of you for a few days until you were well enough to go out again. Everything fell into place, and you both were finally happy, with each other in your arms, and you guys partnered up as knights. Sucrose was you guys’ biggest supporter.
