Work Text:
The bit about him dating his boss is interesting. She’d never heard him say anything about that part before.
it makes her feel a little silly. That she’s hanging on for bits of info about him like there aren’t any other guys in this business.
But it’s his last season - as a series regular atleast - and she’s worried that he’ll go off to another project and just forget all about her.
He’d been really nice about her brief lapse in judgement that night after karaoke.
Hadn’t laughed it off or ignored it either. But it was kind of heartbreaking in a way.
“Oh my God,” she’d pulled back fully when his hand rested on her shoulder. “I’m so sorry. Of course you’re not interested.”
“C’mon Jess.” He’d said one hand still wrapped around her bicep. “Believe me you don’t want to go there.”
”I get you wanting to be all moral about this but come on we don’t even work together anymore. It’s-“
He sighs, smiling in exasperation. “I loved working with you okay? But I’m too old for you and I can barely handle being out past 12 anymore.”
“I’m not some kid,” she almost hisses. “And you’re not ancient for Christ’s sake.”
“Regardless,” he nods. “You’re a friend.”
Ow!
”We’re not ruining a friendship over a tipsy moment. I respect you too much for that.”
Which, honestly really, only made her want him more.
