As Time Ticks By (A Mermay AU.. ✨️BUT SWAPPED✨️)

Summary:

It was pretty nice in the forest of seaweed.

After all, it was quiet, peaceful, and barely got bothered.

Plus, you lived with Father.

Father was a kind and gentle siren, and you were a father and daughter family. You ran a fish farm in the middle of the surface and the dark ocean. It was the perfect spot to grow crops like kelp and seaweed.

But, they were a hassle to take care of.

And you could definitely prove it.

"Pesky sea urchins.." You mumbled under your breath, using kelp to lead them into a small basket. They were a bit stubborn. A lot of sea creatures were, now that you'd thought of it. Now, it was nearly sundown, and you were annoyed. Father called you in for supper early that evening.

"Y/N, I.. I need to ask something of you." He started. "Yes father?" You replied politely. He had never stuttered in your presence. Maybe he was nervous because you were hanging out with your friends for the night?

"I need you to stay home tonight. There are fishers floating over the caverns."

This shocked you so much that you let your kelp float in front of you. You let out a low growl.

"Why on the night I wanna do something? With my friends?"
"Honey, it's much to dangerous, you could be cau-"
"No, dad! I'm not a fishling anymore!"
You retorted, and you regretted it.
Boy, you were in deep shit now.

"You are staying home, wether you like it or not, young lady. No buts. You will stay home until the fishers are reportedly gone."
You opened your mouth to retort again, but he gave you a cold stare.

"Yes father.."
You mumbled.

Little did he know that later that night, you were sneaking out.

...

You were frantically swimming through the dark forest of seaweed. It was much harder to traverse alone in the dark. Everything was hazy, and then, suddenly, you felt yourself bumping into a large net. You were confused at first, then felt the net constricting around you. Shit. You struggled, hearing loud metal creaking above you as tools and crates of dead fish fell off the boat above you from how hard you were pulling. Suddenly, you felt something very hard hit your head before going completely unconscious.
