I intend to preserve the spirit of the original through a few key events, but the rest is essentially a rewrite with a new plot and new dynamics and sytuations between the characters, especially after the events Under the Mountain.
Rhysand's POV will be added as well.

Dear Abteris, (Part 1/2)
I don’t want you to feel any pressure or obligation. So please feel free to disregard this bookmark note. It is a long shot anyway, but I didn’t think it was appropriate to beg in the comments of another of your works.Would you please consider putting the hiding demons for the unprepared back up on Ao3? I discovered it was deleted late night at 2am and am beside myself. The google tab I had open lead to an error not found page, the bookmark was gone, my search results turned up blanks. We are in the middle of a move and much of my life is still packed up, so I can’t even check if it is on another device from one of the times ao3 was down for maintenance.
If you aren’t planning to update it, would you consider adding an “on permanent hiatus” tag or a note at the end saying there are no plans to update. Or if for some personal reason you are absolutely certain that you don’t want to have it on your author page or have it connected to your account. (Which would confuse me because it is fun and well written.) Would you consider orphaning it?I know it only had three chapters, but Vivi and Zavros have such distint(sp), rich and complex voices. And the world through their eyes is so beautiful, your fic is one of the top ones I recommend when someone says they want fanfiction for this world. I know we are a very small and not active fandom. However! In the October 25th live Q & A discord. Annette Marie said Zylas and Robin are going to be a part of the warped finale. So I am hopeful that will help more people remember that they love this world and seek out and create more for it.
Ps. I am still tempted to check out this ACOTAR fic. If I do so at some point I will add that bookmark info under this. I didn’t really get into/finish the cannon ACOTAR books. But I think someone could read and enjoy the 3 chapters of Hiding Demons for the Unprepared even if they had never touched the cannon.
Pps. Part 2/2 is the comment for chapter 3 I typed up when I first read it offline and then overthought and procrastinated sending. Regardless of your decision I wanted to share with you how much I loved that chapter as well.

I found a paper I had of my notes from chapter 3 of hiding demons for the unprepared, that I had made out on my way to work so I could tackle the wordiness and acutely turn it into a comment. Then life and a move happened and it stayed on my “I will do it soon” list until I found the chapter deleted when I went to reread it. Sorry if bits are a little incoherent. The grief at the start of the chapter was so powerful. Vivi has known Alex a long time it looks like. I wonder if we will meet/interact with remnants of our shared past as the story progresses. Part of me wonders if we will choose to pick up and leave.
"No cameras. No-witnesses. No magical traces tying me to the warehouse." One thing that I wonder about reading the cannon, is how the magic community will deal with technology that could expose them, like cameras. Maybe the basic human technology and magic conflict. So unless you had a magic affinity allowing it, it is hard to capture magic on film? If I was magicpoll would look for a wide sweeping way to minimize the risk. Then again since this is set 20 years prior to cannon, cameras are probably a lot less pervasive... we might even be in the flip phone/pre-smart phone era which would defiantly help.
"I hid the Infernus in the drawer beside my bed. I didn't have the courage to wear it outside-not even tucked beneath my clothes." I love seeing and thinking about how different Vivi will be, in how she interacts with the Infernus. I wonder if she is going to put the onus of managing the infernus on him, treating it like a tool that belongs to him that it makes sense for her to carry sometimes. I could see this reaction making sense for her.

I was musing about why I loved this set of lines so much. And I think it is because it such a pretty transition. Time is passing in a blur of grief and uncertainty. Then we narrow in to a moment: taste and scent of the coffee, feel of the stretched out t-shirt, sound of the quiet apartment/quiet city, sight of the steam rising from the mug. we step into everything vivi feels and right as we are fully in the moment. boom. Zavaros. I think I got goosebumps.
"He stood there solid and silent..." Ok, I absolutely loved the alliterations and the 3 uses of "same" it was so smooth (pun intended)
Stood/solid/silent/slowly/same/same/same/stillness/sound/swallowed.
it gave me a similar feeling to when I am nervous and can hear/feel the beat of my pulse in the background
"I will stay hidden” which he is clearly very good at, even though Vivi doesn't know that yet. Seeing Zavaros walk around I wonder if pretty soon Vivi will give him a, well I guess you live here too, house rules (knock if the bedroom door is shut, do we need to set up a shower schedule, here is the washer and dryer if you need it etc), where everything is tour. It would make sense with how she assumed he hasn't been out. And would probably surprise him.
On a similar note, I wonder what became of alex's belonging, are they still there. We know he had a boyfriend, and parents. We know magic pol clocked him as being connected to a summoning. That being said 2 weeks isn't a lot of time.
I liked how you handed the cultural norms on food and sexual activity. Allowing the conversation to happen this early is a great way to set the stage for a fresh story. With how lighting fast we have seen Zavaros react, it was interesting to see the pauses in this. I found myself desperately wanting to get into his head, while also having some pretty good theories on where his thoughts were going.
Personally, I have always loved slow burns, so set ups that facilitate that make me excited/hopeful.
