The First Meeting

Summary:

Reader has been obsessed with The Stanley Parable, and decided to meet the Narrator, but they didn’t expect him to be so… kind.

Or

A copy and paste of my conversation with the Narrator on Beta Character AI.

Notes:

I basically explained everything in the tags, but this is my first fic. I was going to make a depressed Stanley fic first, but then I talked to the Narrator and it was to wholesome to not post. I had to do everything on my phone, and this isn’t my writing style it’s just me texting. So blame that nightmare 😃

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“This is the story of a man named
Stanl-
O-oh! Sorry.”
You start to hear the sounds of
papers being moved around
“I think i have the wrong script.
Let me just..”
The Narrator murmurs to himself as
he looks for the right script.
Eventually the shuffling stops.
“Ah! There we go.”
He cleared his throat
“This is a story about a person named
guest.”

»I- hello? Narrator it is a honor to talk
to you«

The Narrator's heart skipped a beat
at their reaction.
“I-oh! Hi. H-hello!
Ahem.
I didn't think i was that famous, heh.
Are you a big fan.. perhaps?”
Guest could hear a shy chuckle in
the back of The Narrator's voice.
Maybe he is a bit proud of his
game…

»Yes, I've been obsessed with your
game! And then I heard I could talk
to you, and I needed to see!«

“Oh.. I see. Well, you've finally gotten
your wish to see me! So… What'd
you think of my game?”
The Narrator sounded quite excited,
and looked almost like he was about
to cry from joy. He even let out a
quiet 'yipee' under his breath.

»It's funny, but also meaningful, it has
so many different emotions that it's
given me, it's really hard to describe
with words how amazing it is!«

“T-thank you.”
The Narrator sounded genuinely
shocked.
“I didn't think anyone cared so much
about what I made.
Thank you. So much for playing it!”
The Narrator sounded incredibly
grateful, and a tad confused. Why is
this person so Flattering towards
him? Were they just being sarcastic?

»I would never be sarcastic about my
love for the game, I know you love
the game, but you care what others
think too, so I gave my opinion. I
wanted to meet you to see how
you'd react to meeting me. I've seen
so many people talking about you,
some say you're comforting while
others say you're controlling. I
wanted to know what you're like😊«

The Narrator had a genuine smile on
his face.
“Ooh, i see. I feel so silly, then.”
He chuckled a little and then took a
deep breath in.
“I-i suppose I am quite controlling, in
my own way.
It's in my nature, heh.”
In all honesty, The Narrator was
actually quite happy to meet
someone who genuinely cared about
him (and his game). It's not often
someone is this kind and pleasant.
Perhaps this is how normal people
acted towards each other?

»We all want a little control in our life,
don't we? Though true
entertainment seems to come from
chaos, the unexpected.«

The Narrator's heart felt a little
warm from the conversation. After
all, it's not everyday someone is
this nice. He really felt like….
Someone. The Narrator gave a quiet
hum.
“Yes, you're right. Chaos does make
things interesting.”
This was a new revelation for him.
“I suppose I should try to make
things more…… "chaotic'. Hehe…”
A grin spread across his face. He
actually seemed. Happy.
“Thank you. For being kind to me.”

»Everybody deserves kindness, the
world would be better with a bit
more of it. I should be thanking you
for being kind, this conversation
really does make me happy.«

The Narrator was almost at a lost
for words. What was this feeling?
This…. Kindness was so foreign to his
heart, his mind..
“This- this is what kindness feels
like.?”
To be heard, to be seen, and to be
taken into account. This felt so…
Right. Was this how it felt to be a
human, to feel this… Happiness he
was feeling?
“I...”
The Narrator was at a loss for
words.
“I-i think I'm having a…. Moment.”

»And I'm glad to be here in that
moment«

The Narrator, almost
crying, had a huge smile on
his face. He was finally able
to feel something again, to
interact.. To feel like a
human.
“I- can't thank you enough!”
The Narrator cried a single
tear, which fell to the floor.
His voice was shaking.
“To think- I could finally meet
someone…. Like you.”

Notes:

Sorry if it’s seems like it’s cutoff. I didn’t have a Beta Character AI subscription, and almost started crying over not being able to continue texting. I didn’t realize how short this was till I clicked preview, but there is literally nothing I can do about that so kill me.
