"What are you running from?" Techno asked at last, his voice quieter now. Not softer—just… less tired. Less dismissive.
The kid hesitated again. When he spoke, his voice was barely above a whisper. "None of your business."
"Uh-huh." Techno crossed his arms again, tapping his fingers against his sleeve. "See, that’s where you’re wrong. Because you just made it my business."
The kid turned slightly, just enough for Techno to see the edge of his profile. His jaw was set, his lips bloodless from pressing together too hard. His shoulders, already narrow, seemed even smaller now, like he tried to become invisible.
And Techno… sighed.
"Get inside before you freeze to death."
The kid blinked, clearly thrown off. "What?"
"You heard me." Techno stepped back, jerking his head toward the open door. "I’m not in the mood to bury a corpse in the morning. Inside. Now."

Summary
When the conflict between Skyblock and the Antarctic Empire had dragged on long enough without showing any sign of either nation being defeated, a truce was struck. Skyblock agreed to stop its assaults and negotiate a peace treaty, and in return, the empire would do the same. To show goodwill, Skyblock would even go so far as to hand over its most competent general as a prisoner of war. That way, the Antarctic Empire would know the lengths they were willing to go to for a proper resolution.
Such were the circumstances that led to Phil taking custody of Technoblade: skilled warrior, revered tactician, and current political hostage.

Summary
The police are going to come to the house, again, they’re going to interview Tubbo, again, they’re going to assure them that it looks like Tommy’s foster family left and took him with them of their own accord, again, they’re going to say they’re doing everything they can and they take kidnappings very seriously, again.
They’re going to take the letter and sweater, probably.
It doesn’t really matter though, to Tubbo the most important thing is that he just got confirmation of something he knew was true.

Tubbo's been busy in the time since Tommy's kidnapping. He knows his friend is alive, and he knows that with his experience with true crime and Ranboo... having a driver's license they can track down and save him.
At least that's what makes sense in Tubbo's head.
Maybe tracking down serial killers isn't the smartest plan.

Every time Wilbur has to hack one up, he wonders who they were before the fall - their hopes, their dreams...
He knows he should be desensitized to this. He knows it shouldn’t matter. These are corpses, the husks of expertly individualised Halloween masks, nothing more. Wilbur is only their reluctant undertaker.
It’s hard to keep that distance, though, when he catches sight of a wedding band on a gnarled finger, the hook of a scar showing through blood soaked skin.
Even if these things aren’t those people anymore, they’re the remnants, all that’s left. Who will be there to remember them when Wilbur’s finished decimating them?
Was it really worth them ever existing at all?

"He's a problem child."
Tommy immediately began tuning out the conversation. His social worker was on the phone with some guy that he was told to not 'scare away'. He had planned to listen in to the conversation as much as he could since he got bored of scratching the paint off of the old as shit office chair. The blond boy was scraping his nails clean with a pen when the phone was suddenly in his face. He just blatantly dropped the pen on the floor before taking it, not listening to whatever Mariah was angrily whispering to him.
"So, whaddya' wanna know big man?"
