Gabrielle knows comfort while getting your hair done is absolutely key to helping Michael's shoulders relax just a second because even with the pillow she sits on and bracketed between her moms legs,
Michael's shoulders are up to her ears and she knows her baby girl's eyes are squeezed shut as the mist of water starts landing on her hair.
It's one last section on the most tender part of this baby's head, she massages the pink lotion onto her scalp and to the ends of her hair, "baby girl this is going to hurt"
"How much more do we have?"
"This is the last section"
The last sentence brought on a hiss when the comb tries to keep a coil, "I'm sorry" she hates that it hurts, she stops to massage the spot, before holding the top half of the section and picking it out as Michael's hand presses on her scalp.
Gabrielle taps Michael's hand and waits a minute before braiding the section quickly and understands that Michael is not twitching in a way to make her feel bad but feelings are hard to put away, she feels relief as she taps Michael's shoulders
"you can put these down" she says lovingly knowing it will take a few hours for them to stay down.
