Crimson Soul; A Genshin Impact X Monster High AU

Chapter 2: Kaeya

Summary:

“What’s troubling you?” Diluc questioned with a hand on my shoulder, my eyes jolted around the room before I ultimately sighed, a hint of sadness filled that exact sigh. “You guys are lucky…you know that, right?”  “I can probably guess what this is about…” Diluc then flashed me a sympathetic smile and I looked back at him…his crimson eyes meeting my one pale visible eye…

“Well on the bright side” Diluc began as he changed the subject and pulled a…

Key…!?

Out of his pocket…

“Look at what I snagged” he smirked and my eyes fixated on the key before me

“Fathers…skeleton key?” This was…quite the turn of events; Diluc was always known to be able to “think outside the box” and when I mean “think outside the box” I mean just be extremely shady at times. I mean I didn't think he would still be “stealing” things at 1,702 years old y’know but then again…it’s Diluc he is quite unpredictable…he’s either a ray of sunshine or moody and brooding.

Notes:

this is Kaeya's POV

trust me the catacombs will play a decent role in this AU

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

I looked at the Outfit I had laid on my bed

  1. Corset
  2. Sweater
  3. High Rise pants with holes
  4. Fishnet socks
  5. Boots
  6. Gloves that only covered my thumbs

I felt confident that this is what I wanted to wear before I continue packing my clothes…

No more last chances

No more last minute changes

No more…

No more…Mondstadt

Dawn winery…

No more Germany…

My heart ached at the thought of leaving Germany, the only home I had ever known. I had grown up here, formed relationships, and built a life here.

After finishing my packing and changing into a new outfit, I turned around to find Father staring at me from across the room. A wry smile spread across his lips as he observed my clothing. "Diluc has been influencing your sense of style, hasn't he?" he asked, his tone teasing. I shifted my body uncomfortably, feeling the familiar sting of embarrassment. "No, I simply enjoy wearing corsets. Is there something wrong with that?" I asked; a note of hesitation creeping into my soft voice.

Father shook his head, but his eyes shone with a hint of amusement. "You're just like your brother, denying every claim that ends up being proven as true," he said, and I winced at the truth of his statement. My reputation as a liar followed me wherever I went, and it seemed there was no escaping it.

My face grew warm as I felt my temper flaring. "I'm being as genuine as genuine can possibly be, Father," my voice; composed and calm, but he simply raised an eyebrow and chuckled softly. "Which is rare for you, Kaeya, You're known to lie a lot."

I was not trying to be disrespectful or confrontational, but sometimes talking to Father felt like a constant battle of wit and truth, once I was always bound to lose. The slightest hesitation, the slight change in tone, and I could see the hint of anger crossing his face. "Best not to raise your voice," he warned, and the crimson glow in his eyes was a clear warning sign that I had already pushed this conversation too far. I knew I had to tread carefully, but the stress of the uncertainty ahead left me feeling edgy and prone to losing my cool. "I'm just stressed," I told him, the words slipping out before I could stop them. It felt like I was walking a delicate tightrope, and I prayed I could make it to the other side without falling. “Can I please be excused?” I asked, trying to be as polite as I possibly could that hopefully he would get out of my hair…and thank Celestia he did.

I hauled all 5 bags downstairs and sighed…

I hate limousines…

Much like Diluc…I hate it when I have to prove I come from an influential family…especially when they are vampires. Diluc and I were taught, prepped, and raised to be respectful, always use our manners and…be mature with our choices…

As kids we were homeschooled…

When we were younger, father spoke a lot of German to us…Diluc knew everything he said (afterall he’s German and…well technically Romanian too but we don’t talk about that) since he’s fluent in German…whereas I only knew English which made father get me to take German lessons…

I would love to go through the whole “signing up for classes” bit but…i’m not…I also take it Diluc never explained that either, huh?

I looked at the slip of paper I was given “#714” I was right in front of that room…there was a lot of talking…once I opened the door-

“Kaeya do you need help?” Diluc asked and I shook my head, 2 trips and I had everything in my room…

Things I couldn’t bring with me:

  1. Sewing machine
  2. Assorted fabrics
  3. …fabric glue
  4. Glue gun…

Yeah basically anything that is either too big or too much…

“Xiansheng stop ignoring me” a ginger finally complained with a note of desperateness and I looked at the male he was talking to “I am simply just reading, Ajax. can’t you be a little more patient? I am sure you are more than capable of that, no?” “Zhongli pleaaase” Ajax groaned and Diluc smirked “I'm sure you can be patient, Ajax.” “wow, thanks for the motivation” he sighed and flopped onto the couch.

The variety was…interesting.

Diluc is a Vampire

Ajax is a Leviathan

 Zhongli is a chinese dragon.

And I…

At this point I'm nothing more than a Cryptid…

I don’t…belong here-

I’m not a pure monster

I’m far from it…but they aren’t-

I sat down on the pitch black couch Diluc and Ajax were sitting on and sighed; my light blue eyes saccades back and forth between the Dragon and the Leviathan. “What was that about?” I finally questioned; curiosity peaking my interest. Diluc stifled a laugh, Ajax made a prolonged sigh and Zhongli just hummed. “No for real…what was that about?” I repeated and Diluc rolled his eyes playfully, ultimately smiling to himself, making his fangs very visible. “Ajax woke Zhongli up and blamed it on me…now Zhongli won’t help us with anything because he’s butt hurt” Diluc laughed at that and I sighed “I’m just going to go in my room”

I don’t fit in…I look and act way too different…

Not just that but…

Diluc is a vampire that can conjure fire…

Ajax’s form allows him to have legs on land and a tail in the water

Zhongli can manipulate rocks and their patterns

But me? I can…freeze things, Cryokinesis if you may

Not just that but…

I have this odd “Eldritch” aura surrounding me and my ghost-like features…

Am I…really

That different?

I sighed once more and flopped onto my bed; staring at the ceiling hoping I would-

*KNOCK*

As I was lost in my own thoughts…

*KNOCK*

Thinking no one would really-

“Kaeya? Can I…can I come in?” knowing it was Diluc he wouldn’t take “No” for an answer so I hesitantly opened the door. When Diluc needed me to confide in him he would never let me say “no leave me alone.” He would cross his arms and eye me till I was ready. If you asked me, I would say that it is…completely alien to me on why he does this but then again…he is a vampire…

“It can even get us into the catacombs” Diluc’s smirk had turned into a grin; his dull crimson eyes now were radiating a strawberry red.

“Wait…does father know?”

“3D printer,”  he replied nonchalantly.

Now that I think about it…there was a 3D printer in the family library back in the winery.

“You…you 3D printed it? Does it even work?”

“Oh it works alright, shall we try it after school tomorrow?” Diluc had a mischievous grin on his face…

He wants to explore…

We didn’t do much the rest of the day…Diluc kind of just slept all day in his coffin like usual and Ajax was talking Zhongli’s ear off. I on the other hand…well I was just trying to make my room fit my personal aesthetic or at least compliment it.

Diluc stays up at night and sleeps during the day; a habit he had developed due to being a vampire and a habit that he’s soon going to have to fix.

I won’t have to fix up any of my habits…

Other than that, I would have to get used to sleeping in a room by myself…
