"Welcome Home"
greeted (Y/N) in rainbow lettering. The world on the screen was colorful and bright. It almost hurt to look at. (Y/N)'s face was dimly lit by the light of screen of computer. Their eyes met those of a puppet. The human and puppet stared at each other. The puppet and human stared back at each other. After a second, (Y/N) looked away from the puppet by strolling down the page. They read the text below,
""With a hop, skip, and a jump, you are ushered into the colorful, serendipitous world of Welcome Home! It only takes one stroll down the neighborhood to know this is just the nicest little place you’ve ever seen! Watch Wally and his colorful array of friendly neighbors learn about the vibrant world around them and take part in nonsensical fun!"

There was something familiar about it all. The memories were blurry and distant. (Y/N) looked down.

The links were rainbow lettering like the main picture of the front? Main? Home? page. The page (Y/N) were on. That page. They looked at the links but couldn't help the feeling they were being watched. (Y/N) clicked the first link. They were reading through it but something felt off. Wrong even. Why was this all so familiar? This was at least a generation or more off. Yet this all felt like a hit of nostalgia. It was hooking in them.
Again and again (Y/N) saw who they discovered was called Wally Darling, staring at them with those cartoony yet human eyes. They couldn't help but feel watched even after exiting the tab and getting on social media. Yet everywhere, every single place, there was Wally Darling staring at them. Saying cute or creepy little flirtations, it was like everyone got obsessed with him all at once.
Then they joined in too. It seemed harmless enough. Just a cute yet creepy little thing. Yet that was only the beginning.
