Summary

Her fingers activated an audio control. “I’m not here to hurt you,” was all she managed to say at first, watching the young woman flutter her eyes at the sound of the voice coming from the speaker. The golden light dimmed slightly, and the woman seemed to let her guard down at least a fraction. Her anger turned into confusion, and she scanned the window for Beatrice’s face without success. “Who are you?” she questioned quietly into the blackness. Beatrice engaged the button a second time. “I’m going to help you get out, just give me a moment,” Beatrice told her, already looking for an entrance into the chamber.
