Work Text:
Sidney and Gale had barely made it to their plane, which would’ve been unfortunate since they got the last available seats on the last plane to Woodsboro of the day. Neither said anything while they flew through the air.
They honestly didn’t know what they were going to do when they got to Woodsboro. Sidney was the one who honestly wanted to go more than Gale. She just wished that Sidney could expect Sam’s life choice, from what she gathered, she’d been visiting Billy for awhile.
The flight felt much longer than five hours and Gale didn’t know how much longer she could sit still. So she was thankful when they finally started their descent and landed in California.
There was no point getting a rental car since they were only there for a day and a half. They could just Uber to the prison then their hotel and back to the airport. They didn’t have to worry about luggage either since they just took carry ons.
“Sid, don’t you think this is a little extreme?” Gale asked
”I just want to see him, and maybe punch him in the face” Sidney hissed
“You’re going to get arrested for assaulting an inmate.” Gale muttered, pulling out her phone to call for the Uber
The wait for the car was extremely painful, as Gale tried to calm the tension and Sidney just kept getting fired up. She really wished that Sidney had thought this through before she flew to Woodsboro. Even after all these years she still acted spontaneously every now and then.
The Uber ride was even more tense, Gale shuffling awkwardly, Sidney glaring daggers at the drive, and the driver himself appearing stoned out of his mind. Usually people gawked at Sidney for being a, very famous, Ghostface survivor. Right now the driver seemed to be more interested in Sidney’s breasts then the road in front of them.
Gale really, really wanted to punch Sidney in the face at this moment. Here she thought that having to see Billy again would be the worst part of her day. Right now though, he didn’t sound so bad compared to the creepy Uber driver who was now staring at her breasts in the rear view mirror.
“The road is in front of you buddy” Gale hissed, her attempts to lighten the mood gone and soured by the people around her
Even stoned, that seemed to get the driver to sober up for a second and focus back on the road. The rest of the drive was spent in silence. Gale didn’t look to see, or even look to know if the Uber driver was looking in the rear view mirror again.
When they got to the prison, Gale was surprisingly thrilled that she was about to see Billy. She knew him, she knew what to expect from him, unlike with this fucking Uber driver! Even still Sidney was the first one out of the car leaving poor Gale behind.
She ran to catch up with her friend who was already walking into the prison and shoving her purse at the man running the metal detectors. She all but ran to the man at the front desk afterwards, Matthews, his plaque read.
“We’re here to see Billy Loomis. I made an appointment for 3:00PM” Sidney snapped, the man behind the desk shrunk back a little
“R-Right, Room D4. That way” Matthews told them, pointing to the right
Sidney took off in that direction, once again leaving Gale alone as she mouth ‘sorry’ to Matthews. When they reached the door to room D4 Gale found that Sidney was still outside the room.
Odd, she thought she would’ve burst and slapped Billy in by now.
”Come on, Let’s get this over with” Gale sighed, opening the door
The sight that greeted them was odd, Billy sat there, a confused but happy expression on his face. Then he seemed to process who was actually in the room with him and scowled, his face turning bright red.
“You know, after all these years I never thought I’d be getting a visit from you” Billy hissed
“I’d much rather be somewhere else as well. Believe me when I say I wish I could knock your teeth out right now.” Sidney retorted
“Okay! How about we actually talk about why we’re here instead of ripping each others heads off? Thank you” Gale jumped in, she swore that Billy wanted to strangle her if the look he gave her was anything to go by
“Is he still better than the Uber driver?” Sidney asked, sarcasm and annoyance coating her voice
“Uber driver?” Billy muttered, looking confused again, this time with seething rage as well
“It’s about Sam!” Gale yelped before the situation could escalate even more
The blood drained from his face, leaving Billy looking like a ghost and he seemingly broke out into a cold sweat. His deep brown eyes widened with fear that caught both Sidney and Gale off guard.
”What happened to her? Is she hurt? Did some stupid fuck try to kill her? I swear if they even laid a finger on her I’ll-“ Billy’s protective and angry rambling was cut off by Sidney
”No!” Sidney barked “It’s about her and you!”
Billy furrowed his brow again, truly looking confused now. He had been Happy, Angry, and Confused. All emotions you want to feel in rapid succession of each other. Man he really has been cycling through the emotions today.
“What about Sam and I?” Billy asked
“Oh, so You’re telling me you aren’t trying to turn her into a mini you?” Sidney snarled
Gale groaned internally, she really wished that they thought of a plan of attack before jumping in. They had already pissed Billy off once today, another time wouldn’t end well. Even if he was handcuffed to the table, he’d find a way to kill them if he really wanted to. She looked back over from Sidney to Billy and was surprised when he looked genuinely hurt.
“You think I’m trying to manipulate her? You think I’m lying to her?” Billy asked, his tone becoming more and more aggressive as he continued talking
“Yes!” Sidney barked “What else could you be fucking doing with her!”
”Has it crossed your mind that maybe I truly care about her!” Billy yelled back
Gale slouched back in her chair, this conversation was getting way out of hand. She reached under the desk and started spamming the button that called the guards.
“You can’t care about her! You’re you! You’re selfish, you’re controlling, you’re emotionless, you don’t care about anyone but yourself!” Sidney yelled, in the back of her her she thought about how amazing it was the guards hadn’t come in to see what the hell was happening it “All my life I haven’t been able to life because of copycat killers mimicking you! I can’t find a…a happy ending because of you!”
”I’m selfish and controlling? I’m not the one trying to control who Sam talks to!“ Billy scoffed “Also, you think you deserve a happy ending Sid? If anyone deserves one, it’s Sam!
”You are only damming her insanity!” Sidney hissed
None of them got a chance to say anything else as the guards Gale for finally showed up. They didn’t say anything but they did un-cuff Billy, who lunged at Sidney once he was free.
“You slutty bitch!” Billy snarled “You dare you say that!”
The guards pulled Billy back, he continued to struggle and eventually the guards gave up being back into the actually prison. Instead they scream for more guards and shoved Billy to the floor, dog piling him.
Gale grabbed Sidney by the shoulders and started leading her out of the room. She doubted that Billy was going to calm down with them standing there. Closing the door behind them Gale could swear she heard Billy yell something along the lines of ‘Get the fuck off of me!’ but didn’t stick around to find out.
”That was a disaster” Gale hissed
Sidney didn’t respond, she was listening to the commotion happening in the room they were just in. Gale was right, today was a disaster, a complete and total disaster.
