Coding is what brought me to you

Summary:

Branzy had a weird power, he had the mind of a computer, being able to connect to any device, also being able to learn everything on the french revolution. (He also used it once on a really hard test, look he's smart, but why waste time on stupid questions that take 2 hours?) Now he's trying to not be a villain, but when you help out a villain, I'm pretty sure your considered one at that point-.

Notes:

So yea- I've made this. Goodluck reading this, it's absolutely horrible, but still, hope you enjoy.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Apparently hacking into a high security system for the hero tower is illegal, so now I'm running with a lot of information on my computer. I zip through the coding of different electronic devices, causing them to crash, or completely shutting down, not to be used again. I probably cost people a lot of money, but who cares! This is the fucking first district, everything is basically gold, (69) the rich fucks can suck it up, and carry there whiny ass over to the apple store for another phone.

Finally landing in my shitty apartment, via the computer. (Seriously I have no idea how that thing is still standing. It should honestly have shut down forever ago, I'm not complaining though.) Taking off my "vigilante" outfit, I throw on a t-shirt and a pair of sweat-pants. I lay onto my slightly comfortable bed, and wrapped myself into the cove of warmness, a burrito. Sighing, I relax my muscles, ready to get some much needed sleep. Then things go black.

I dreamt of weird things, my traumatic experiences, a whole lot of coding and a bunch of other stuff that I'm never going to share, especially to you, readers.

Waking up, I groan out, and untangle myself from my blanket, pressing the alarm button on my phone, turning off the alarm. 6:30, my phone read, I had about an hour to get ready before I had to get to my daytime job. Fully getting up from the bed, stretching my body out until I heard those nice pops, sighing in relief, I walked to my bathroom. Getting in a nice warm shower, using the strawberry scented shampoo. (What? My curls need to be taken care of properly.) Also having put on a shirt, that was quite like a shirt someone I know would wear, and some rather nice pants.

Seeing as it's only 7, I could probably make it to the cafe early. Grabbing my laptop, I lock the door and waltz on my way over. One thing I learned over in the lower districts is that you have to act like you belong, no quivering, nothing, just act like you're a gang member or something. Do what you want, it's not like anyone would judge you, unless if you actually did a crime, then you'll probably just go to court, or something like that.

Walking the last two or so blocks, I reach the cafe I worked at. I didn't have the opening shift, so I just shifted with the other worker. I enjoyed it very much, doing coding takes up a lot of free time, and a lot of energy. So when I get like- 7 hours of sleep, it's great! I wouldn't give this job up even if a hero wanted to hire me! (Psh, if a hero tried to hire me they would be dead in the next few days, I wouldn't even do it for the pay.)

Entering the small cafe, I wave at the cashier, they just nod their head, they are probably tired, I mean, waking up at 4am? I could never. (I need at least 5 hours of sleep to not be a zombie, and at least 6 not to be grumpy. Hell, sometimes I'm still grumpy in the mornings, even with 7 hours of sleep.) I go into the staff room, clock in, and put on my apron, I'm not getting my shirt dirty. Sighing as I go up to the cashier counter, I tap on my coworkers shoulder, them jumping slightly due to not noticing me. They quickly recover and scurry back into the backroom, presumably to clock out.

As it'd probably be a boring shift today, I take out my laptop, gently sitting on the counter, bringing two of the chairs from one of the tables. The rush hour starts in like, 4-5 hours, so I should be fine. Doing my online classes was easy, just plug in some headphones, and listen to lectures. I like to read the written form of the lecture later on, as I can fully process through that. We have to write a 5 page paper explaining everything in the french revolution in crunched down form. No one has to know I didn't have to do a whole lot of research, as I just had to go into google via my mind and literally look at all the info, coming all the way to when they stopped chopping people's heads off.

I close my computer hearing the bell jingle, welp, 1 customer on my shift. It always surprises me when I get customers before the rush hour. Standing up from my chairs I had kidnapped, my mind clock said it was 9:30 so why would someone come in so early for- wait no, I know the reason. Pastries, we have so many it's not even funny. The owner is nice enough to let me bring home some of them, I enjoy them when I do.

Standing at the cash register, I wait for the person to order. "Uh- can I get a cinnamon roll, and a latte? To go." Asks the person, "sure, that'd be… $9.52, can I get a name?" "Uh- yea sure, *insert random name*"

Writing the name onto the cup, I make the latte, and grab the cinnamon roll. As there is literally no one else in the cafe, I just slightly slam the order on the counter, letting the guy know it's his. To top it off, I point at him and point at the order. He quickly grabs it, says thanks and leaves. Yay, time to do more homework, it will be fun. (Note the sarcasm, I hate homework so much. It's not fun.)

Back at my makeshift couch, (aka; two chairs together, look I'm short, like most of the readers here.) I open my laptop once again, and set out on my journey once again to get through this homework assignment.

Welp- welcome to this place, it's basically where the narrator lives, hi I'm the narrator, you won't see me much. But this won't be the last encounter we will have :)

It's about 30 minutes until the rush hour begins so I should probably get started to set things up. We don't have many people come in, but there's still quite a crowd of people. Getting everything prepped and set, I sit down and start playing a game on my phone. As soon as the clock striked 11:00 people started to pour in. I get my mind ready to do so much math, as this stupid register gets things wrong a lot. Starting to ring people out, I'm so glad that I had set this up before the rush hour.

As the last people were quickly taken care of, I settled back down into the comfortable chatter of the cafe. As the lunch hour neared the end, people started to exit the small cafe. I leaned back onto the counter from the chair, I had about 2 more hours until the end of my shift. So being me, I grabbed my sketchbook that I keep in here, no one touches it. Last time someone touched it, bad things happened. If getting glitter thrown at you is bad, what else were you thinkin, dear reader?

Drawing the exit to the cafe, the fairy lights hanging from the edges, the drawings children made dotted around the walls, the black curtains framing the windows, the tables, and the chairs fitted around them, paintings that probably mean nothin, and everything, at the same time, all that in one sketch is gonna be slightly tricky. But being the person I am, I don't know when to stop, and I'm extremely stubborn.

So I jump into it, making the door first, and then the giant windows on the right and left of it. Making the rest of the cafe go off page, only my mind can imagine that part of it. Then all the tables, making sure that all the chairs are squished together, but still look good. I also draw the counter I'm at, drawing my sketchbook I'm drawing in, also in the tiny sketchbook, I draw myself reading a book. After making the cash registers, drawers, and the small black coffee maker, I move onto the finer details of the rest of the cafe. (I had gotten stuck in my own mind, so when I started drawing the counter, my hands almost moved on their own.

Finishing the fairy lights that seemed to dance across the cafe walls. I moved onto the swirl painting that was on a random wall, surrounded by drawings of it. Some were good, but some were- really bad, like really bad. I avoided the curtains on purpose, that would be the tricky part, how they seemed to be slightly translucent, but still be fully black, always made me stare at them once a week for at least 10 minutes thinking on how that would be possible.

There were also random sticky notes all around, because like- we get really bored sometimes. Once we had a sticky note competition, this one really tall dude could change his height, even though it's illegal, he rose to the height of like- 10 feet and placed it there, no one asks what it says. People used to, now it's just became a staple, it said "don't ask about my height, it's a mystery." The guy not on our team anymore, but he still sometimes drop by to help with stuff that's on the top shelf. No one questions how he knows, he just does, it's weird.

There were entire conversations in different places, even on the ceiling, again, tall dude. Anyways, I finish the finer details, the shading, shadows all that. I won't color this one, maybe I'll make another, color that one. (Spoiler: I don't.) Just as I finished, I saw the last employee, so I'd be good to go. She works the graveyard shifts, not many tips, but you get paid slightly more. I take out some of the money from the tips, leaving some for the next person, there's about 20 dollars.

Taking off my apron as I leave the cafe area, and into the staff room. I folded it nicely and put it on the shelf for them, each one had a name sewn on the back. It's only if you've been here for quite a bit of time, so when you leave the job you get to keep the apron. The tall dude I sometimes see is just walking around town with it on. I clock out, open the door to outside and step out. The cool breeze as it passes over me, I feel slightly on edge, but that's normal in this type of area. Fast walking, it's only around 4 o'clock, but that doesn't mean anything, you could still be kidnapped.

Walking still, I think on today's events, I finished my 5 page crunch french revolution thing, drew some shitty art, and probably unknowingly pissed off some form of existence. (I did not, the fates were never in my favor, except this one time.) I finally get to my apartment, opening the door with my key I have. I could probably just teleport in, but what if someone sees me? A person just disappearing? No thank you.

Opening the door, I step in, close the door, and lock it. I took a deep breath in, the air was stiff as still. Feeling a wave of exhaustion go over me, I'd have to make it my bed, and have clean clothes on me to sleep. I ate a few pastries at the cafe, paid for them of course, I'm not going to steal. Quickly changing into comfortable clothing, I finally lay down in the blankets on my bed… before rolling myself into a burrito. I yawned slightly, honestly, my body was tired, my mind was like it was dressed out of bed. So I thought of math equations, it helps me fall asleep, I gave up on sheep at 780 it just seemed so repetitive.

Finally closing my eyes after a few problems, I fall asleep. It only felt like minutes when I woke up, the moon having been already up. Stretching my body for the second time today, hearing those satisfying pops and cracks. Going to the bathroom, I take out my "vigilante" outfit from the hidden cabinet I have. Taking off my day clothes, I put on the outfit. The outfit had a few blood splatters on it, but that's expected in this line of work, also no, my clothes stay on when I teleport, I'm not that one dude from mha.

Finishing up doing my hair so it looks like it's brown, I sigh, I start to zip across the city, looking for crime to uh- take care of. I come across a mugger trying to get a woman to give him her purse. Sneaking up on him, I jump kicked his head, he fell over unconscious. I look for a phone on him, he has one, so I take it and wrap it around his hands, what? It's funny to do.

End

Notes:

Fun fact: my stupid ass got this deleted once, it was not fun, anyways hope you enjoyed, cause it took 2 hours to write this.

Also you can expect quite a few of updates, on a 'schedule' but don't be surprised when I disappear for 2 months something.

Also the amount of chapters might change, but I'm hoping that it going to be 10. :)
