Katara sat down in front of her sparkly blue, pink and purple set up, Sokka was sitting in his usual bean bag, scrolling on his phone in the corner. She quickly flipped her secondary camera to face him and set up the “Sokkas Corner” frame, some of her followers loved to see him so she had made the digital frame as a joke, but everyone had voted to keep it after a few streams. He liked contributing to her streams, plus she tosses him some candy when they get subscribers or donations. She usually has a cam for Momo and Appa, their roommate, Aangs, cats, but he is out of town visiting his family and brought them with him. “Sokka,” she tossed a blue jolly rancher at his head, “on in a few.” He caught it without looking up for more than a second and nodded, “Sure thing, sis.”
She flipped her ring light, some LEDs and her main face cam on, tapping some presets on her stream deck, once she had Twitch loaded. “What do you think for today's topic? ‘Creating random streamers as sims’ or ‘trapping Mortimer Goth in a loveless marriage.’?” she asked, as she twirled in her chair, messing with the beads she had strung into her hair this morning. He laid his phone in his lap and thought for a moment, “Didn’t you already do the Goth one?” She faced him, “Yeah but that one was a while back... guess I should do creating streamers, though.” She turned back to her monitors, “Alright, ready?” Sokka hummed with approval.
She typed in her title and hit Start Streaming, she smiled into the camera as she put her headphones on, leaving one side off her ear so she could hear if Sokka said anything. “Hello everybody! It’s me, Painted Lady, with my brother, Captain Boomerang.” Sokka rolled his eyes, “Still hate that name!” Her viewers started flooding in, offering names of streamers she usually collabs with, saying that she should make them in CAS, or saying she should make some of her Instagram followers. She opened her gallery up, showing her previously made sims, she had already made all her friends at least once. She pulled up a new browser on her secondary monitor, “Alright who should I look for first?”
She spent a little over an hour hopping into streamers chats, asking if they were okay with her using their faces for videos then screen sharing their streams when they said it was alright as she created a Sim for them. She would encourage her viewers to sub or at least go watch the other streamers if they wanted to. Typically, she stuck with other Sims streamers since that was easiest. She was currently chatting with a streamer named Suki, who uses the alias, Kyoshi Warrior when she is streaming. Katara had added a few of the female streamers on Discord and Instagram, Suki and Katara were messaging privately as Katara created a Sim for her. Suki would occasionally ask Katara questions on the stream, “So is that guy on your secondary cam your... brother?” both of their chats immediately flooded with messages teasing Suki.
“Yeah! That’s Sokka, he does his own streaming sometimes, usually on Minecraft. He goes by Wolf Warrior because his avatar wears a wolf mask and carries a boomerang.” The chat had a few people saying Suki and Sokka go together well and that they ship it. “How's the Sim coming along?” Katara sent a quick screen cap of the now finished Suki Sim, “Amazing, if I do say so myself! Feel free to show it to your chat!” She popped the finished Sim into a household with the Sokka Sim she had recently made, “For later.” she said as she winked at the webcam, sending chat into a spiral. Sokka had his face buried in his hands and he was very embarrassed. “SIS! Not cool!”
Katara laughed, muted her mic then turned to Sokka, “Should I add Yue in, for the chaos.” All chat could see was Sokka yelling “NO!” A few quick viewers screen grabbed his fit and turned it into a reaction GIF posting into one of the general chat channels in her discord channel. Katara made it the new emote she could use for when something bad happens. She unmuted her mic again and asked chat what small streamer she should go watch now. A handful of people suggested The Blue Spirit. “Weird name choice, but alright.” She quickly searched to see if he was online, he was. He was playing Breath of the Wild, which she had only seen short clips of. He had his face covered with a blue and white Oni mask, she could see her chat screen flying with messages and emotes out of the corner of her eye.
The Blue Spirit seemed to notice the sudden jump in viewers and a mass of new subs, as a few hundred of hers hopped over to his stream to see if she had joined it, she glanced back to her chat, “Please don’t bother him you guys.” A few of them were spamming his chat with thirst messages and telling hm to accept Painted Ladys offer. Her viewers soon backed off and left her watching him with only 30 of so people in his chat. He looked a little confused, and annoyed, so she typed out a quick apology for the sudden spam along with a brief explanation. He turned his chair to face the camera, lowering his mask, revealing a black mask over his mouth. He raised his head, his eyes slowly trailing to the camera. She felt like he could see her, she looked at her chat, they all said some variation of ‘I know right.’ or ‘isn’t he so hot!’ one even said, ‘Would you believe me if I told you he used to do streams shirtless!!!’ Katara's eyes widened, “No way? Must’ve been before they banned tiddie streamers.” Sokka looked up at her, “What are you guys talking about now?”
After a few minutes of chatting with her viewers, she privately messaged The Blue Spirit, ‘Hey some of my viewers are wanting me to make a Sim of you, is that okay?’ He responded quickly enough, ‘Sure, I guess...but what is a sim?’ She laughed, her viewers flooding chat with question marks. “He says yes,” she paused as she read a new message, “but only if I share a clip of his stream on my Instagram.” Her loyal viewers already had clipped him staring into the camera as he removed his mask. He sent his discord, ‘easier to message me on Discord.’ She copied and pasted his tag into the search bar, sending him the clip her followers made, ‘Followers want me to post this one, that okay?’ She could see he was typing, then the icon disappeared, she looked to his stream, he was leaning into his hand, with his eyes closed. He was muted but she could tell he sighed heavily, ‘Sure, just tag me, same name as twitch. Thanks.’
She made his Sim, her viewers told her to add abs, or change the hair, or that they would smash. She added his Sim into his own household and screen capped a picture of him in CAS. “What do you guys think?” she had made it do a little pose, he was waving and smiling lightly, “I don’t know what his full face looks like but I'm sure this is okay.” She sent it over to him, ‘Sorry this took so long, let me know if you want me to change anything about it.’ He had ended his stream a few minutes prior. He apparently is mute on all his streams, she asked her chat and they confirmed, no one had heard his voice before. ‘Looks great, but I would never pose like that.’ She made a sour face, and made the sim do a depressed pose. ‘How's this then?’ she asked sending the newly posed sim to him., hoping her little joke wouldn’t offend him.
Zuko turned around with his back to his computer, answering her on his phone. ‘Better, much more like me.’ he was smiling a little. He turned back around and searched for her on Twitch to see if she was still live, he hadn’t bothered to look her up while he was still live since he was in the middle of a 100% run and didn’t want to waste any time. He pulled up her stream, making it full screen on his middle monitor. ‘You look different than I expected.’ he sent without thinking. She raised an eyebrow and looked directly into the camera, “Thanks?” she said aloud. Her chat started freaking out asking who she was responding to. She laughed, speaking in a serious tone, “He messaged me saying I “Look different than he expected.” she clearly thought she was being funny, so he typed in chat, ‘Half expected a tiddie streamer in a bathtub.’ She gasped, her chat flipped out, “Rude.” She pulled up a clip of one of his earlier streams he was in a very loose tank top that had very low-cut arm holes. He was wearing the Oni mask, “Says you, you’re the real tiddie streamer, Sir.” His eyes widened, something inside him snapped. He typed in discord again, ‘Careful, might give them the wrong idea.’
He was right, her chat was freaking out that she had just called a random stranger Sir, of all things. Teasing her that she couldn’t come up with anything better. Suki was watching this all unfold and providing the old clips since a mutual of theirs had been watching his streams since he first started and was sending her the clips. He furiously typed in chat, ‘How do you even have that? I didn’t start saving clips until last year!’ the chat was in an uproar. She pulled up another one, he was fumbling through a boss battle, this was one of the first times he had taken the Oni mask off, the chat replay showed a handful of people complimenting him, it was throwing him off his game. “Someone gets a little flustered when they get called a pretty boy.” He blushed, she was clearly just trying to irk him for the viewers on her stream, it was working. He was thankful he had shut down his stream earlier.
He stopped responding in chat, choosing to message her separately, ‘Enjoyed the banter, I have a day job, so I need to go to sleep. Goodnight.’ She said goodbye to her stream. Shutting down everything and looking back to Sokka who was dead asleep in the bean bag, she kicked his leg, “Go sleep in your own room!” Zuko stood, removing his face covering, his shirt and shutting down his PC. “Goodnight, Turtleduck.” he lightly tapped the glass of his snake's tank. He plugged in his phone and plopped down on his bed. He couldn’t hear his uncle’s humming anymore, so he was pretty sure Iroh had gone to sleep. His phone pinged with the familiar sound of a discord notification, he convinced himself to roll over to check if he had set his alarms, internally using that as an excuse to check the app again. She had responded, “Goodnight, feel free to message me if you ever want to learn how to play The Sims.”
