Floragato was falling.
Falling.
Falling off a cliff.
There’s a ravine at the bottom.
With water.
They can’t swim.
In a panic, Liko went to call out Kilowattrel to save them.
But one thing led to another.
And deciding to screw everything in the universe, she jumped after them.

Liko and Floragato were falling.
And Roy was panicking.
They didn’t even have a plan.
If they were going to die, why didn’t Liko make sure they wouldn’t go through the waterfall?
He tried calling her name. He screamed out her name.
He couldn’t find her anywhere on their descent.
Then he heard a splash.
He looked around frantically for Liko and found that Floragato had hit the waters below. She wasn’t making any movement. So Roy went to investigate.
The rocks were slippery, so it was a bit of an awkward dive, but he was still able to reach her with ease.
He pulled her up onto the rocky ledge next to him, checked her pulse, and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she was alive. The fall hadn’t done anything too serious. Just bruised some muscles and scraped up her legs.
Roy was just about to sit down when a cough was heard.
Floragato woke up first, Liko's little troublemaker stirred and opened its eyes. It took a while for it to resync with reality, but when it did, it shot up in a panic and immediately looked to its still unconscious trainer.
Despite its uncaring attitude, Floragato seemed to have a genuine soft spot for its trainer.
It's actually kind of cute.
"Roy! You alright down there!?" "Pika Pikachu!?" Roy looked up at the top of the cliff and he could barely make out Friede and Captain Pikachu, along with a stoic (but still worried) Mollie.
"I'm okay! Floragato too! But Liko's passed out!" He exclaimed. He could see Friede and Mollie look at eachother, nod, and then Mollie descended down to them on Friede's Charizard.
"Come on, let's get her up." Mollie said and she and Roy both picked up Liko and carefully placed her on the back of Charizard.
Roy managed to recall Floragato and place its Pokeball in his pocket before hopping onto Charizard. Mollie hopped on behind him and Charizard made his way back up, albeit slower because of the weight of three people on him, and one of them being unconscious.
When they all made it back to the top, Friede helped them all off and Liko was placed on his back. After recalling Charizard, they all made their way back to his blimp.
"What even happened?" Mollie asked, monotone voice betraying her, as she sounded worried.
Roy took a deep breath and sighed. "Liko and Floragato got into an argument about Floragato not listening to her again and it ran off. We found it training near a cliff and Liko tried apologizing, but halfway through, part of the cliff crumbled and Flora began falling. I saw Liko almost bring out Kilowattrel, but I didn't know why she didn't, I guess she just decided 'screw it' and went after Flora herself."
Mollie kept silent as he explained, staring at Liko's back. Girl was too self-sacrificial for her own good.
After returning to the blimp, they spotted Orla and Murdock, their smiles dropped into worry as they saw Liko. "What happened!?" Orla yelped out, jumping off her Metagross and running up to them, Murdock and his Rockruff close behind.
"Liko being self-sacrificial, now move." Mollie explained simply before lightly shoving the two to the side and making her way to the blimp. "We'll be in the infirmary if you need us."

When Liko finally awoke, she was still in the same clothes from the day before except she was currently wrapped in a blanket and lying on something soft.
She could make out the white ceiling and slight antiseptic smell the room had.
The infirmary...?
The last thing she remembered was Floragato falling, she jumped after it and...
"Flora!" She yelped as she sat up, only to be stopped by Mollie, who was glaring her down like a disappointed mother.
"Is fine." She said, and that made Liko relax in relief. "Thank goodness..." She mumbled out.
Her relief was cut short when Mollie smacked the back of her head, making the girl in blue yelp in pain.
"What was that for!?"
"For being reckless and endangering yourself." Mollie scolded. "You could've called out Kilowattrel instead, but no, you decided to jump after it yourself." The pink haired woman pinched the bridge of her nose. "You specifically are gonna give all of us grey hairs."
"Ludlow already has grey hair." Liko retorted with a small smirk and a laugh.
Mollie heaved a deep breath similar to a laugh before returning to her usual seriousness. "You know what I mean. Next time you do something like that, I'm wrapping you in bubble wrap."
"What!?" Liko pouted at that, but before she could say any more, the strange moment was broken when Roy, Orla and Murdock barged in, both crying dramatically.
Liko sighed in exasperation as she let the three hug her, while spotting Mollie sporting a mischievous little smirk.

"Pikachu! Chupi pika!" Captain Pikachu said in a scolding tone of voice, arms crossed and a look of disappointment on his face. And while Liko had no idea what he was saying, she got the feeling that she was supposed to get from it.
"Pikachu's right." Friede agreed, arms also crossed like his Pikachu. Like trainer, like Pokemon, Liko mused. "Next time you do that, there will be serious consequences, and I'm not just talking about the bubble wrap." Friede bringing up the bubble wrap made Liko shudder.
"Chupika." Pikachu grumbled and Friede let out an over dramatic gasp. "Captain! Language!"
Looking between the two, Floragato rolled its eyes and looked up at its trainer, who looked upset.
"Flor?"
Liko looked down at Floragato in confusion. "Flora, gagato."
Liko was silent for a minute, trying to decipher what Floragato was saying, before responding. "If you're asking if I regret jumping after you..." Floregato nodded. "Then no, I don't. If it means your safe." Liko have a small smile as the strange necklace she always wore gave off a faint, lime green glow from under her shirt.
She didn't notice it, but Floragato did.
'Self-sacrificial, has no regrets for anything, and is more scared of bubble wrap then certain death.' Floragato thought to itself as it hugged Liko, much to the girl's surprise. 'Yeah, she's the Chosen One alright...'
And much to Flora's chagrin, no Chosen One had respect for their like, and now it's up to it to protect her and help save the world.
Dammit, Arceus.
