One day in their adventures, in the clearing of a forest, the traveling party consisting of Tsumugi, Tasuku, Fuyuki, and Homare finds a sword stuck in a huge slab of stone.
Fuyuki eyes the sword very curiously. "This sword…"
"Could it be the legendary sword in the stone? It is said that whoever can lift the sword shall become the king," Homare says.
"I can sense powerful magic coming from it…" Tsumugi comments.
"Hey, Tasuku," Fuyuki calls, "it's your call!"
"Oi, muscles don't always get the job done! But…" Tasuku moves forward. "I guess it's worth a try."
But no matter how much force Tasuku puts into pulling the sword, it won't budge. He gives up some time later.
"If it is magical by nature, perhaps Tsumugi-kun who is very proficient with magic can lift it?" Homare wonders out loud.
"Um, I don't think it's that simple but…" Tsumugi steps forward to pull the sword, but fails and quickly gives up. "I believe you have to be the chosen one to be able to pull it out."
"The chosen one could be anyone among us. Fuyuki-kun, please take the stage," Homare says.
"Me? O…kay." Fuyuki approaches the sword and tries to pull it out, only to fail and give up soon. He shrugs while smiling. "I'm not the chosen one."
"That leaves Homare-san then," Tsumugi says.
"Very well."
Homare steps forward and places his hands on the hilt of the sword. He pulls it, forcing his muscles to their limits, but…
The sword doesn't even budge.
Then Homare remembers, you have to lift the sword, right?
"I call forth the strength of the bear!"
Homare bulks up, now super swole with the upper half of his body taking the form of a bear.
Rumbles…
"It's moving!" Tsumugi exclaims.
"Homare-san is the chosen one then?" Fuyuki asks.
"Wait! Look at the slab of stone!" Tasuku says.
Homare roars and lifts the sword along with the huge slab of stone it's stuck in. He holds it overhead like a champ. "This makes me the king then!"
Tasuku frowns. "Seriously…"
Tsumugi smiles sheepishly. "I'm pretty sure you're supposed to pull the sword out of the stone instead of pulling both of them out of the ground…"
Homare brings down the sword and the stone, slamming the ground hard enough to make it crack. "This is more like a humongous hammer than a magical sword! However…" He lets go of the weapon, slowly shrinking back into a human. "I do not think I deserve to be a king."
Tsumugi and Fuyuki let out a collective "Ehhh?"
"I did not lift it purely with my own strength. I used magic for it." Homare looks at Tasuku. "Honestly, had you brought more tools to this adventure, you could have dug everything out as well."
"Homare-san, do you mean-"
Homare nods. "This sword is only special if you can lift it without any external help."
"Doesn't magic come from within you though…" Tasuku says.
"Well, let us leave that sword for another time...or the true chosen one."
