“I think that all for today's meeting” And with that Viserys ended this pathetic excuse of a serious meeting.
Rhaenyra wasn’t even looking his way, she was trying to understand how her childhood best friend became this awful woman who made her life’s goal to sabotage every single plan Rhaenyra wanted to accomplish in her family company.
As the rest of the council members got up and left the room, she considered staying and talking to her father privately, but a part of her knew that it would be worthless. He would say she was overthinking and that it wasn’t a big deal that his wife was trying to undermine her before she even took control of the company. So she decided to leave.
She could feel Alicent’s cold eyes on her as she got up and walked away.
…
The moment the elevator door opened Rhaenyra felt like she could put her armor down and not be seen as weak for doing so. The place was quiet except for the football match on the TV. She walked to the couch and found Harwin sleeping there. That made her smile. He must be really tired to fall asleep on such a tiny (at least for him) thing, she thought. He looked adorable though.
She showered, when she got out he was still sleeping there, so she grabbed a blanket and decided to join him because it was a cold night and she just wanted to be held. She woke him on her attempt to cuddle next to him. He opened his eyes and Rhaenyra felt at peace under the weight of his gaze.
“Sorry, love. I tried not to wake you” she said with a sheepish grin on her face.
Harwin just chuckled and with his arms on her waist put her even closer. Rhaenyra found comfort in his arms and spleeped at peace.
