Summary
Lucerys Velaryon falls from Arrax before he can be devoured whole by Vhagar in the chase that ensued in Storm’s End. Commanding Vhagar to dive after his falling nephew, the One-Eyed Prince Aemond stains his hands with the blood of his nephew, witnessing the bastard’s impossible death; struck by a bolt of lightning casted straight out of the heavens. Prince Lucerys Velaryon was dead, but he did not stay that way. His heart beats after death and the son of the Black Queen lives with a new, strange, unbreakable will. Lightning claimed more than the life and death of Lucerys Velaryon, for this son stands strong now, with purple eyes and white hair scattered in brown curls, as if reborn by the Seven.
Or, Lucerys does die with his dragon over Shipbreaker Bay, but returns to the world of the living with a little help from a coincidentally timed bolt of lightning—sent from the other side— and the Heir to Driftmark is reborn with a Strong will in his bastard bones.
