   Summary

   In the moment before he gains consciousness in July, Vash understands two things.

   1. His brother’s love for him will lead to either his destruction or that of humanity if they continue like this.
   2. Humanity will not thank him for his intervention, the price for their lives too high in collateral damage and the years of hardship to follow.

   In the sky, as they fall, Vash pulls his brother close and offers a compromise: give up his quest to destroy humanity and he would never leave him again.
