We all know The Lego Movie, right? Emmet, a construction worker, finds a mysterious piece of resistance and goes on an adventure with Wyldtyle and the rest of gang to stop Lord Business and all of that jazz. Now imagine if most of those ideas were changed around. Boom! You get this.
Lord Business is looking to transform the people of the world into mind controlled puppets. But seeing as how brainwashing takes so much effort, he resorts to turning people into cyborgs. This is what happened to poor old Good Cop, a once loving police officer who wore a smile to anyone he saw. He was turned half cybernetic and transformed into the infamous Bad Cap, someone who uses violence first and asks questions later. People who escape these procedures are known as the Master Builders, often retreating into space thanks to other people like them.
Bat-Man, Benny, Metal Beard, Unikitty, and of course, Lucy, are all victims of Lord Business, with Lucy having nearly been fully transformed unlike the others. A once kind and lovely singer, Lucy turned cold and broody, not wanting to ever be hurt like that ever again. For the longest time, the Master Builders simply lived on their own accord, saving people where they could, and building anything they wanted. That was until Vitruvius, the oldest Master Builder among them, unless you count Skelly, had a prophecy that Lord Business would use something called "The Kragle" to assure his domination of not just Earth, but also the entire universe. The Master Builders were quick to search the universe for the mysterious "Piece of Resistance," a powerful artifact said to be able to neutralize the Kragle.
On Earth, we find Emmet Brickowski. He is a normal construction worker living in Lego City #210, there are a lot of Lego Cities. He is incredibly lonely and no one wants to hang out with him. Although, after "Taco Tuesday" his life, as well as everyone else's lives, will be changed forever, according to President Business. One day, a day like any other, he is told that he will be on nightshift duty, which involves him staying at the construction site over night to make sure nothing gets in and ruins the place. Emmet enthusiastically agrees and chugs 2 cups of coffee the hour before heading off for the nightshift. While looking around, he spots Lucy, though he doesn't know who she is, and a giant talking pink cat roaming the area. Emmet accidently makes his presence known, falls down a hole, and finds the piece of resistance.
The plot of the movie follows soon after that with very minor differences.
