"Wait, you actually remember having pizza, old man? Wasn't that like eons ago for you?" Leon teased, his- no their smirk ever-present on his handsome face.
"Real funny. No really, I'm busting a gut laughing at your hilarious insult." Leo deadpanned, turning an unimpressed look onto the younger slider.
"Ok, ok, jeez...so tell me about it, Peepaw. How great was this pizza?" Leon's grin could've split his face in half at this point.
"Call me that one more time and I'm gonna-"
"PIZZA! WHAT ABOUT THE PIZZA?!"
"LEON! WILL YOU-" Leo stopped, sighed, and turned his head back up to face his insufferable counterpart. "I don't remember how long ago this was..." he started, "But the parlor closest to the lair had closed down. We had an agreement with one of the delivery guys -- Vinnie. My- our? brothers...were on patrol when someone tried to rob him. It was the end of the night so he was just tipped out. He was so - I dunno, grateful? - that we saved his paycheck that he gave us one of the pizzas leftover from the day as a thank you."
Leo averted his gaze to the floor, "Dad warned us not to take things from strangers...but we were young and tired of living off of canned, nearly expired food people had tossed. So we split the pie evenly -- and before you ask, yes, Donnie measured the slices to the nanometer --" a fond smile flashed over his features, "And we dug into the first real food we'd ever had." Leo paused there and contemplated, "I can't really describe how it felt to have that-"
"Normal." Leon interjected.
Leo snapped his eyes to the smaller slider. He was staring a hole into the wall, mind far away...
He'd seen that look on himself before.
"Yeah," Leo agreed, "Normal." They sat in silence for a few beats, reliving the memory, until Leo continued, "Well...it was a pretty sweet deal. Free pizzas every Friday when Vinnie was on shift."
"It was about a year later when the shop closed. The owner went bankrupt -- surprise, surprise -- so our pizza supply was cut off." Leo grumbled.
He looked over to the smaller slider sitting up against his side, kicking his feet back and forth underneath him.
He really was adorable. Leo couldn't stop himself from leaning over and pecking his temple.
Leon sighed and turned a kiss to Leo's shoulder, pressing himself closer to his larger clone, "So what happened? No more pizza?" he replied.
Leo slung his arm around Leon's shoulders, "For a while, yeah...but then we found the Hidden City."
Leon looked up at him, "Oh?"
"Oh." Leo chuckled, "It was amazing. There was so much to look at. So much to do, so many new opportunities..." he trailed off and looked down to drop a kiss to Leon's forehead and meet his eyes.
He didn't miss the way the younger slider's eyes fluttered and the blush that dusted his cheeks, making his markings glow, "And then I met Bone Man."
Leon looked adorably confused, "Bone Man?"
"The most boney of all the men," Leon giggled at that, "I was still learning how to control my ninpo at the time and Bone Man, ehem...Hueso was a victim of my efforts." Leo explained.
"What? Did you portal him to Tahiti or something?", Leon teased.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny.", Leo teased back, leaning down to capture the younger slider's mouth. They pulled away grinning at each other and Leo continued, "My brothers and I were trying to get into his restaurant. He thought we were yokai the first time he saw us and kicked us to the curb."
"How rude." Leon replied.
"I know right? We're way cooler than some boring ol' yokai." Leo responded.
Leon laughed, "Hell yeah we are!"
Leo chuckled at that, "So I may have -- accidently -- portaled our brothers onto a pirate ship."
"A pirate ship?"
"A pirate ship." Leo confirmed, "...Or at least I thought I did. The pirates were 'portal jacking' any attempt at teleportation to steal people's belongings. I didn't know where they went at the time...or how to get them back, so I asked Hueso for help. To make a long story short, we got really lost, the pirates stole my odachi, then we found the pirate ship at the black market, Hueso fought his brother who was the captain of the ship-"
"WAIT. The guy who was stealing from everyone was Hueso's brother??" Leon exclaimed.
"Yeah, crazy, right? So they made me walk the plank-"
"The plank??"
"The plank," Leo repeated, "And I tried to open a portal to the police station so their sorry pirate asses could do the time for their crime, but...somehow my brothers popped out of the portal instead?-"
"PLOT TWIST" Leon yelled excitedly.
"Oh, if you think that's crazy, get this..." Leo paused for ultimate dramatic effect (Donnie would be proud.), "THEY WERE IN TAHITI THE WHOLE TIME!"
"NU-UH!!"
"YEA-HUH!" Leo replied, "Then, the police showed up and I thought for sure Hueso was a goner."
"Was he?" Leon questioned, completely enamored by the tale Leo was telling.
"Funny enough, they praised him for his heroism. They saw him stand up to the pirates and I vouched for him. And he finally let us into his restaurant, Run of the Mill. Pizza supply restored." Leo tilted his chin up, looking proud at that.
"Wow" Leon breathed out, looking up at Leo in wonder.
"I know, right?" Leo chuckled back, looking out across the room as the events flashed behind his eyes.
A flash of purple caught his gaze and he turned his head to see Donnie standing in the archway, "Quite the story, Leo."
Both Leos watched as Donnie moved from the doorway to approach the sliders perched on the couch, shedding his lab coat on a nearby chair.
He cupped Leon's face with one hand once he was close enough and dropped a kiss to his upturned mouth. The softshell climbed over Leo's lap to snuggle into his armless side, pecking his cheek on the way down.
He looked up to the older slider and grinned -- not far off from the cheshire cat, "Got any more stories to tell, Peepaw?"
Leon barked out a laugh, while Leo grumbled, "You two are never gonna let me live that one down, huh?"
A simultaneous "Nope!" resounded around the room.
Leo sighed and sat snuggly, sandwiched between two of the sweetest assholes he'd ever met, "Y'know...now that you mention it, there was this one time..."
