Summary
Lumine noticed the way she would run into him more often than before, that sometimes, his gaze would stray from his books and rest on her form during their stay at the library for longer than they did before but the blonde brushed it off, blaming her wishful thinking for it.
Though, a part of her did hope that her wishful thinking was proven right and that maybe, just maybe, he felt it too- regardless of the consequences it would have for them.
That faded the moment that a sunny day, she saw that he wasn’t alone.
The brunette he was accompanied by was beautiful, with chocolate skin and silken, curly locks that framed her bright blue eyes and radiant smile as she laughed at something he said.
And instead of being like his usual, stoic and detached self, his lips had actually curled into a half-smile at the sight of the woman’s laugh.
Which was enough to break Lumine’s heart and make her chest constrict painfully.
She knew that look he wore, but never did she think that she would see it wash over his expression- especially not when looking at someone else.
Someone that wasn't her.
