Healing by Sleeping Together (It's surprisingly effective)

Summary:

"Bubbles?" he murmured quietly as Roach and Soap kept dragging him in through the hall to his room.

"Hm?" Johnny hummed out, although strained from having to keep a good hold on Ghost.

"D'ya have painkillers or s'mthing...?" he slurred, head dizzy and becoming slowly clouded with exhaustion. "Yea, almost there boo, ye can do it..." he replied.

Work Text:

"Can you stand?"

"Yes I can bloody stand Roach, get offa' me-"

"Simon, you are hurt, there is no way in hell I'm letting go of you."

The two men were certainly in an awkward position, Roach desperately trying to hold Ghost up, while the other was simultaneously making a poor attempt at limping away from him. He was trying to get Ghost to go to medbay, because he had been shot in the side of his leg nearly an hour ago, and now he could barely walk.

"Please Simon, just get medical attention for once goddamnit," Roach groaned, holding him by the arm and trying to drag him down the hall in the direction of medbay.

"Mmm, I don't wan' to," Ghost grumped stubbornly, trying to will himself to go in the other direction toward his room. "Where's Johnny? I wan' him here."

Roach huffed in annoyance, pulling him forcefully in the direction of medbay, but the man was six foot four inches of pure strength and there was no way in hell he was gonna get him anywhere near medical at this rate. "For fucks sake," he scoffed at Ghost, feeling trapped where he was in the middle of the hall, just bound to be found by another member of 141or a squad member who happened to go looking for the two men who had been sent off on mission together.

Being found was extremely likely, since them and Soap had all been sent off together, simply to eliminate all threats and gather as much intel from the site as possible. Well, it just happened that Ghost had been shot during this event because of a surprise attack in close quarters, and although it was only the side of his leg, Roach had still had to remove the bullet and patch him up himself before he could get a proper evaluation and help at medbay.

It also just so happened that Soap came around the corner at that exact moment, spotting the two struggling men and running over.

"Ghost- Roach!" he shouted, rushing over happily before snorting at the sight of the two. It was a little awkward, Roach beneath Ghost's arm and trying to pull him away, meanwhile the other was barely resisting, but it wasn't like Roach was strong enough to move him anyways.

Soap giggled, not even bothering to help. Fucking traitor. "What's- Ghost done- now?" he managed to snort out, practically lighting up the entire hall with his warm laughter. Maybe it was a good thing he was here now, help get this man that continued to refuse help back to his damn senses.

"Well!" Roach began, and Soap huffed in amusement once more, already able to tell there was some dumb story about to come up. "Boo over here is refusing to get help for his literal bullet wound!" he hissed the last two words pointedly at Ghost, making another weak tug at his arm to emphasize his point. Soap crossed his arms and smiled, his boyfriends that always managed to pull off some kind of stupid rubbish, whether it be Ghost collapsing at random or refusing help, or Roach who was incredibly bad at handling knives, occasionally accidentally stabbing himself and beginning to scream bloody murder.

"It's typical Ghost..." Soap mumbled, shaking his head and grabbing Ghost's other arm. "C'mon ya gommy, let's get ye to bed."

Roach had thought for a moment that Soap was about to drag Ghost to medical himself, but he should have seen shit coming. Oh he was going to kill this man.

"Johnny," he hissed again. "He needs medical attention, you cannot be serious right now-"

Soap simply just pulled Ghost toward him, supporting the man with his full weight, now the one to have one of his arms over his neck instead. He hushed Roach by raising a hand quietly, trying to ease Ghost, get him comfortable and calm him down.

"Boo'll be alright," Soap whispered softly, letting Ghost put his full body weight against him and get a little rest for the first time since their mission. Roach felt guilt invade his senses, he should've done the same. Why didn't he?

"S'okay bug, we'll get 'em to medbay in the morning alright?" he reassured, and it felt so easy to trust Johnny, to slip into his words and let himself believe. Roach knew he was always true to his word no matter what, so he just decided to give in for tonight.

Roach sighed, too tired to even argue at this point, and to be honest he could also use a little rest after their long mission. They were all tired, all three men deserved some sleep right now. He hoisted himself under Ghost's other arm quietly, and they all began to sleepily allow themselves to Johnny's room.

The three partners had a special setup in his room, where Roach would get Ghost each night and the two of them would go to the third's room, where two beds had been put next to each other to fit all three men atop of it, just so they could sleep comfortably together every night. A few people on base knew because of entering Johnny's room, but word hadn't reached Price yet, so they all snuck to his room and slept together each night.

Ghost groaned out in pain between them, his leg was throbbing in pain and he needed some kind of bloody relief if he was going to sleep tonight.

They kept going, slowly making their way to Soap's room, pausing at the door so the man could dig out his key and shove it in the door lock, kicking it open and the two men dragging Simon inside.

It was a process that took far too long, but did pay off in the end when they finally got Simon to lie down, Soap digging through a duffel bag of medical supplies for painkillers and Roach closing the door before returning back to them, watching as Johnny urged Simon to drink water with his pills, but he insisted on taking them dry and nearly choked. Roach would have found it amusing if the guy didn't have a fresh bullet wound in him.

Johnny pulled Simon further onto the bed, unclipping pieces and parts of his gear and discarding everything, careful with his lower leg, while simultaneously pulling off his own things. Unlaced  his own shoes as well as Simons and the men made 3 little piles of gear on the floor, Roach silently storing whos was whos in his head and filing it away for the morning.

For now though, as Johnny carefully pulled the covers back and helped Simon get situated, Roach crawled into the double-bed beside the man and wrapped his arms around him. Soap smiled softly at the sight, happy they could all get some much-needed rest after what happened earlier that evening and finally sleep. He turned off the light in the room and got into bed with his partners, bringing Boo into one big cuddle session and intertwining his and Bugs fingers together.

All of themselves let each other relax, curled in with one another and body heat pressing together, making its own kind of sleepy blanket of warmth. Roach was hugging Simon, practically clinging to him with his head in the crook of his neck and already starting to doze off, and Soap was right next to Ghost, curled into him and grabbing at Bugs arms as he reached across Simons chest.

"Night Bubbles," Simon whispered into the now dark, and quiet, room. "Night Bug."

"Night night Boo," Roach whispered. "Love you so much."

"Love ye both," murmured Soap softly.

One big, tangly cuddle pile. That's what they were. A warm pile of soft snuggling, and none of them would ever change anything about this.
