Exactly Where She Belonged

Summary:

Gwen contemplates being a normal family as she feels her father's touch.

Nothing really explicit but it follows easily

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

Terrance seems passed out, his face buried in his daughter's neck, his breath heavy with the strong scent of liquor. But Gwen doesn't move. She wraps her arms around her father, she can feel his beard scratching her skin and his chest rise and fall with his breath, and she closes her eyes.

The only thing that is heard is the passing of the cars in front of the house. Finney is asleep on the other side of the couch, lost in his own dreams.

She wonders if his dream is like hers, or if he can sleep calmly, she can't tell exactly from the peaceful expression on his face.

Gwen can feel her father's big hands on her, caressing her young body. She's tense, afraid of his touch but she can't pull away; she doesn't want to, subconsciously agreeing that it was exactly where she belonged.
She finds solace in her father's touch, no matter how drunk and hostile he may be when he is fully aware of his surroundings.

She chokes back a sob and focuses on imagining that everything nice and fine all the time, that they're a normal family.

And for a few moments, she allowed herself to relax and enjoy the loving, albeit alcohol-induced, embrace of her father and the peace of the room.

Notes:

Gwen really is the most adorable thing in the world to me, to think that she craves her father's affection so much that she finds comfort in being groped by him makes me so (●´⌓`●)
