Day 20 since the mandate.

It was really starting to get on Eden’s nerves how everyone just dropped their own lives and conformed immediately. There were only a few people she heard complaining about it, but even they didn’t seem to want to disobey. Of course, she was taking care of it, she’d make sure everyone heard about it.

“Conformity does not guarantee safety!”

Is the exact slogan she’d settled on. Now she just need to recruit more members.

She was standing in front of her mirror, head tilted gently. “Hm… let’s see.” Eden held up an ACDC shirt and a striped blue and white one, gently putting on the blue and white one.

“Eden, why do you do this?”

“Because it’s wrong, Esther.”

“They seem pretty happy. Safer too.” The younger prodded gently.

“They’re not. Trust me. And this doesn’t make us safer, it does the complete opposite. I don’t even think this is about the alternates.” Eden sighed quietly.

“The mayor is going to t-“

Esther quickly shut herself up as a shit eating grin crossed the other’s face. “Eden, don’t even think about it!”

“The police are all gone. What do you expect him to do, arrest me?”

“Yes!”

“Pffft.” She grabbed her picket sign, spinning it around in a comical manner before walking out the door.
