Luz had to admit that pregnancy was hard. It wasn’t a feeling she was familiar with, carrying a little life inside herself, and she wasn’t quite sure what to do. Every little thing she did made her worry that it would affect her unborn child in some way. And she wasn’t even that far in her pregnancy. What about when she was closer to her due date?
Thankfully, Luz had two awesome spouses who would gladly help her.
“Are you sure that’s safe for the baby?” Amity asked as Luz walked to the dining table.
…Though her partners probably worried much more than Luz did.
“It’s fine,” Luz said with a smile as she sat down. “It’s a dining table. It won’t do much.”
“If you bump into the corner…”
Luz chuckled at that. “Really,” she said. “It’ll be fine.”
Hunter sat down at the dining table, across from Luz. “I don’t know what’s dangerous and what isn’t,” he sighed. “This is my first time having a child.”
“Did you think that we thought you’d had a child before?” Amity asked as she joined them at the table. “This is the first time for all of us.”
“And even though this is my first time,” Luz spoke up. “I’m pretty sure the baby won’t die if I walk into the corner of the dining table.”
“If you say so,” Amity said with a worried sigh.

Morning sickness really was a pain.
As Luz leaned over the toilet, feeling extremely horrible (though a bit glad that at least the worst part of it had stopped), Hunter ran in. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Luz replied, getting up. “It’s a normal thing, Hunter. Lots of women have survived morning sickness. I’ll be fine.” She smiled.
Hunter still looked nervous. “Luz-”
Luz held up a hand. “I’ll be fine,” she repeated, keeping the smile on her face. She got up from where she was kneeling on the floor, accepting Hunter’s offered hand. “Let’s go back to bed before we worry Amity, alright?”
Hunter nodded slowly. “...yeah, alright.”

Luz and her partners had just gone to a class on birth, and on their way home, Luz felt a kick. She let out a small gasp, and immediately Amity, who was in the backseat with her, turned to face her. “Luz! Are you okay?”
Luz smiled and nodded at her girlfriend. “Yes, I am. The baby kicked!”
Amity’s eyes lit up. “Really? Can I feel?” When Luz nodded, Amity reached over and set her hand on Luz’s stomach. Unfortunately for her, the baby did not kick again. “Is the baby okay?” Amity asked, sounding a bit concerned.
They’re really worried, huh, Luz thought, amused. “Yeah, the baby’s fine. They probably won’t kick again immediately, though.”
“Do baby kicks hurt?” asked Hunter, also sounding concerned.
Luz shook her head. “No, they don’t.” She was telling the truth about that, but Hunter still seemed a little doubtful. Thankfully, he focused on the road instead.
Luz hoped that their little one would kick again soon.

“You’re getting closer,” Amity noted as they lay down on their bed together. Hunter was currently hanging out with Gus, though he parted with Luz with some reluctance.
“I am,” Luz breathed out a sigh. “Probably two weeks now.”
Amity placed her hand on Luz’s stomach and, after a few moments, smiled as she felt a kick. “They’re a strong one.”
Luz chuckled and laid her hand on her stomach as well. “Yeah, they really are.” She was silent for a moment before saying to Amity, “Well, since you’re going to fret if I get out of bed, will you mind bringing me some food?”
Amity nodded happily and got up. “Holler if you need me,” she said, and then she was gone.
Luz smiled lightly as she looked at herself. The baby bump was huge, she noted. “We’ll make sure you’re always safe, little one,” she murmured softly.
Amity soon returned, and Luz gratefully ate the snacks. Soon, they would have a new presence in their lives.

Luz’s water had broken earlier, and now, Hunter was driving her to the hospital while Amity sat in the backseat with her, watching over her worriedly.
“Being in labor… sucks,” Luz said as soon as she felt like she could talk.
“You’re putting it very lightly,” Amity said. “You look like you’re in pain.”
“We’re going to get there in 5 minutes,” Hunter spoke up. “Luz, can you handle it until then?”
Luz smiled at him despite knowing that he couldn’t look away from the road and that he wouldn’t notice. “Yeah, I think I can.”
“I’m here to help however I can,” Amity said.
“I wish I could say the same,” Hunter muttered. “But I’m driving.” He sounded a bit angry at himself for that.
“You guys are already helping by being here,” Luz responded, the smile still on her face.
“3 minutes,” Hunter replied, though Luz could hear a change in his tone as he said that.
“We’ll be there soon,” Amity said, clear relief in her voice.
Luz couldn’t help but agree. She was also relieved. And definitely excited.

“They’re perfect,” Amity cooed, looking at their child.
The baby was held in Luz’s gentle arms. The witch had a smile on her face.
“Can I hold them next?” Hunter asked.
Luz nodded. “Be careful,” she said, and then gave the baby to Hunter.
All three of them knew the sex of their child, but they had decided to let the child figure out their gender by themself. Raine had suggested it as a passing comment, but they all agreed wholeheartedly that it was the best decision.
Hunter looked worried, as if he feared he would drop the child, but his smile showed all the love that he held towards this little life they had brought into this world.
Amity held the baby’s hand lightly. “We love you,” she whispered. “And we’re going to make sure you have the best life ever, okay?”
The baby was handed back to Luz, and as she gazed down at the child, she kissed their forehead. “We’re here for you,” she told them. “Always.”
