Exposing Bruises and Secrets

Summary:

Chay needs help hiding some hickies and goes to Tankhun for help because he doesn't want his brother to find out. But things do go as planned and now Chay has to reveal things about his relationship that he has been hiding for months.

Notes:

This is related to my other fic "How To Traumatize Your Brother in Ten Words or Less" but you absolutely do not need to reach either of them to understand the other. They're just in the same universe. Please let me know what you think or if you see any spelling or grammar mistakes. Thank you and enjoy!

Work Text:

Chay knew that this might be a bad idea, but he really had no idea who else he should go to for this. Chay makes his way through the compound and towards Tankhun’s room. When he gets there he is let in and he finds Tankhun sitting out on the balcony. Tankhun turns to him and gives him a large smile.

“Why hello, Chay! How have you been!?”

“I’ve been well. How about you, P’Khun?”

Tankhun walks off of the balcony and into his room. He raises an eyebrow when he sees how tense Chay is.

“I’ve been fine. Are you okay, you seem really tense?”

“I, um, I need your help with something and I kind of need it to be kept quiet, especially from Hai.”

This concerns Tankhun since Porsche and Chay usually don’t hide anything from each other.

“What’s wrong? Did you get into a fight? Did you get caught breaking a law? Do you need help hiding a body?”

Chay laughs nervously and pulls at the collar of his shirt.

“No, no, it’s nothing like that, I promise.”

“Then what-”

Tankhun sees it and immediately knows what’s up. Just peeking out of the collar of Chay’s shirt is a bruise and If Tankhun were to guess, it didn’t come from a fight. Chay sees Tankhun’s eyes flick to it and covers it with his hand which causes Tankhun to grin.

“Chay, I need you to be honest, is that a hickey?”

Chay’s face starts to turn red and he nods.

“Yes, it is. And it’s way higher than I thought it would be and none of my shirts have a high enough collar to cover it and two of my friends have already pointed it out and I really don’t want Porsche to see them. I have no idea on how to cover them and I figured that you might. So, please, help me.”

Tankhun wants to tease him but he sees the look in Chay’s eyes and decides that he will help first then tease him. He grabs a few products that should work for covering it up and has Chay sit down. Then something hit him.

“Wait, did you say ‘them’? As in, you have more than one?”

“Um, yeah, there are a couple.”

Chay undoes the top three buttons of his shirt and Tankhun’s eyes widen. There has to be at least twenty small hickies on Chay’s upper chest and shoulders with several different levels of darkness. Tankhun lets out a whistle and gives Chay a look.

“Someone has been busy, guess you’re not quite as innocent as most people believe. You’re more like your brother than I thought.”

“I’m not sleeping around or anything.”

“Then these are from the same person then?”

Chay just nods, not wanting to say too much to Tankhun, especially since he didn't want him to know it was Kim who had left all the marks. Chay can tell that Tankhun wants to ask more but is choosing not to. Ironically, Tankhun was probably the person in the family who respected others' privacy the most, even if he would love to know everything going on.

“Thank you so much for this P’Khun. I owe you for this.”

“You can come to my next series marathon and we can call it even.”

Chay smiles and nods in agreement. Tankhun gets to work with covering up the marks, starting with the ones that are more high up and darker and moving down. Tankhun walks Chay through what he’s doing so that he can do it himself if he needs to in the future. Tankhun is about half done when they are interrupted by Porsche coming in.

“Khun have you seen-”

Porsche stops mid sentence when he sees Chay. Chay tries to quickly button his short but he knows that it is too late.

“Chay, what the hell are those?”

“Nothing.”

“No, they are not nothing! I know what fucking hickies look like.”

“Then why did you ask?”

Porsche was staring at him like he just found out he murdered someone.

“I want to know why you have them, Chay. Last time I checked you weren’t going out so I’m a little confused on how you’ve been hooking up with someone.”

“Oh for the love of… I’m not having random hook ups, the marks are from my boyfriend.”

Chay hadn’t meant to say that. He hadn’t told Porsche about anything regarding his love life. When Chay had gotten back together with Kim he had wanted to keep it quiet for a while to see if their second go around would actually work out. Things were still going smoothly three months later but Chay hadn’t had a chance to talk to Porsche about it since they haven’t had more than an hour alone together in the last few months due to all of the craziness. Before Porsche can say anything Chay grabs his arm and pulls him out to the balcony.

“Hai-”

“How long?”

“What?”

“How long have you had a boyfriend?”

“Three months.”

Porsche gapes at Chay and Chay starts to feel a bit guilty for not telling him sooner.

“Three months? You have been dating a guy for three months and you haven’t told me anything. Chay, your first relationship is a big deal. Why haven’t you told me?”

Chay was taken aback a little by how excited Porsche sounds.

“Wait, you’re not upset?”

Porsche raises an eyebrow.

“No. I mean, I’m upset that you didn’t tell me for several months. And I’m a little shocked because you have never given any indication that you were seriously into a person. But I’m never going to be upset that you are living your life. I’m excited for you as long as you are happy and are being safe.”

Chay was honestly a little shocked. Apparently this was showing on his face because Porsche chuckles.

“Clearly you were expecting this conversation to go differently. I promise you that I have no problem with you being in a relationship if you are being treated right. He does treat right, correct?”

Chay laughs at his brother.

“Yes, he does treat me right.”

“Good, good. So…. am I going to get any details, a name, maybe?”

Chay shakes his head.

“Not just yet. I want to talk to him about this first. We agreed to keep our relationship quiet for a couple of reasons. You, and I guess P’Khun, are the first to know about it at all. I’ll let you know more details soon though.”

Porsche nods, understanding.

“Alright, take all the time that you need. Just let him know that if he hurts you in any way I will not hesitate to beat his ass.”

Chay smiles at his brother’s antics.

“I’ll let him know. Although I think he would sooner let you beat him than ever hurt me again.”

Porsche chuckles before his smile drops and he looks at Chay with concern.

“What do you mean by ‘again’? Did he already hurt you!?”

Chay hadn’t even realized he had said ‘again’. Now he was trying to figure out what to say to make sure things didn’t get out of hand.

“Um, sort of. This is actually our second go around. Which is one of the reasons that we wanted to keep it quiet because we wanted to make sure things were going to work out. We started dating a while back and then we broke up for a few months. It was pretty messy and I wasn’t sure that I was ever going to forgive him. But we talked about everything and I gave him a second chance.”

“What did he do to hurt you?”

“I found out that he was lying about several things and I confronted him about him. And we both said some things we didn’t mean afterwards. This was around the same time that I found out about you working here so I was already pretty upset which I think made it worse.”

“But you still decided to forgive him? Why did you give him a second chance?”

“How many second chances did you give Kinn?”

Chay knew that that was a low blow but it got Porsche to stop questioning him. Porsche opens and closes his mouth a few times before he presses his lips together. Chay sighs and grabs Porsche’s arm.

“Look, Hai. Yes, he hurt me, nothing is going to change that. But we have worked together and we have been able to overcome the mistakes of our past. I am so happy with him now. I love him and I know that he loves me. I also know that he will always regret what he did. I’m not going to ask for your permission to have this relationship. What I am asking is that you trust me to make my own decisions with this. Just like how I trust you to make the right decisions with Kinn. Can you do that?”

Porsche closes his eyes and takes a deep breath before nodding.

“I can do that. And you’re right, I have no room to talk about giving second chances. Low blow though.”

“Sorry, I know it was.”

Chay gives an apologetic smile and Porsche ruffles his hair affectionately.

“Now, come on. The reason I came up here looking for you is because Korn wants to have a family dinner.”

Chay grimaces which causes Porsche to laugh.

“I know, I don’t much like spending time with the man either. But at least we are going to suffer alone. He’s making Vegas and Macau come over and I think he even convinced the youngest brother to come as well. You should button up though, I might not care who you have a relationship with but Korn certainly will.”

Chay sighs but goes along anyway since he knows that he won’t be able to get out of it. They go downstairs to the dining room and they are the last to arrive. Chay is happy to see that he has to sit in between Kim and Macau. He’s met Macau a few times and they are slowly becoming friends. Chay feels Kim nudge him under the table and gives him a quick smile, nothing beyond what others would see as friendly.

Dinner isn’t as bad as it could be since Korn only stays for about thirty minutes before excusing himself when Tankhun and Vegas start bickering. Eventually the dining room gets too loud and Chay says he’s going to walk in the gardens for a few minutes to get some fresh air. He’s barely in the gardens for a minute when he feels a pair of familiar arms wrap around him from behind. Chay smiles and leans back into Kim’s embrace. He’s relaxed until he feels Kim lay a light kiss on his neck. Chay turns around and playfully shoves him.

“Oh no, none of that! You and your obsession with leaving marks has gotten me in enough trouble today.”

Kim gives him a concerned and confused look.

“Why, what happened”

Chay sighs and looks at his boyfriend tiredly.

“Porsche saw the hickies and I accidentally let some things slip when trying to defend myself. He knows that I am seeing someone but I didn’t give any names or anything. He also knows some of the bad details about our relationship, which again I didn’t mean to do but it just kind of slipped. I’m sorry, I know we agreed to not tell anyone yet but I didn’t know what else to do that wouldn’t make Porsche send someone out to spy on me.”

Kim gives him a small smile and cups his cheek, which Chay leans into.

“It’s okay, I know you didn’t mean to let it out. We’re going to have to tell people about us sooner or later. I would prefer that we tell them ourselves instead of them having to find out another way.”

Chay smiles and lightly kisses Kim’s lips.

“Thank you for not being upset.”

“I could never be upset with you, Angel. Besides, it sounds like it is kind of my fault that he found out.”

Chay laughs and softly smacks Kim’s arm.

“You bet your ass it’s your fault. This wouldn’t have happened had your possessive ass hadn’t marked me up.”

Kim only hums because he agrees with him.

“Yes, I am possessive over you. But it’s one of the reasons you love me.”

Chay just rolls his eyes and leans in for another kiss.

“Yeah, you're right. I love you.”

“I love you too, Angel.”
