Work Text:

"Butterbeer for Two"
Location: The Three Broomsticks
Reader x Sebastian

You take a seat at the large wooden table. It looks aged and ancient but adds to the comforting vibe The Three Broomsticks has to offer. You take a deep breath as you unwrap your soggy scarf and lay it down beside you on the bench. The sound of rain pitter pattering on the rooftops outside and on the roof above eases your nerves and gives you a sense of peace. You fidget with your damp hair trying your best to fix it and look your best almost as a distraction so your nerves don't get to you. This place has always been a favourite amongst students at Hogwarts to visit with friends and even though you've been here countless times.. this time feels different. There's an air of mystery, maybe even opportunity. You sit alone at the table fidgeting with your sleeve as you wait for him to arrive.

You were taken aback when he asked you to meet here.. just the two of you. Usually, it would only take one person to mention coming here after class and before you knew it someone else would get wind of it which would always lead to a small gathering of students walking into Hogsmeade together to relax and chat over their beverage of choice. You notice Sirona Ryan glancing at you from over the bar, you give a polite wave and go back to fidgeting with your sleeves. She makes her way over to your table with an amicable smile. "Don't tell me you're here alone?" she asks in a perplexed way. "Actually I'm waiting for someone" you say, turning beet red. "All-right then" she replies with a knowing smirk before making her way over to another table to make chit chat with them.

You find yourself looking up every-time the bell above the door jingles as new witches and wizards come in and leave. Letting out a small sigh of disappointment, you think to yourself maybe he forgot or got caught up with something or someone more important.. maybe you interpreted this wrong and it wasn't a date. You feel a ball or nerves in the pit of your stomach. At last, the bell rings as the door is pushed open. A rain-soaked Sebastian is stood sheepishly smiling in the doorway. He waves confidently over to Sirona and she nods her head while smiling. Your breath catches in your throat. There he is, he actually came and he looks cuter than ever. A wind-kissed pink nose and rosy apple cheeks. His auburn hair looking darker and messily tousled by the rain he had to walk through. He saunters over to you with his same old cheeky grin. You smell something different though - aftershave, maybe cologne? This is a different side to the goofball Sebastian you usually get to see. "You clean up pretty well" you jest as he approaches.

You notice that he sits down next to you instead of across from you. Typical Sebastian, always has to be right up next to you. You make some polite small-talk about the weather and your last class before coming here. He apologises for being a tad late. Between the smell of his aftershave and his sweet demeanor, you find yourself thinking about him in more of a romantic way instead if your usual platonic friendship. He's sitting so close to you you can practically feel his heartbeat. You find yourself having to catch your breath when his gaze meets yours. This sweet nervousness that you've never felt before washes over you. You two are practically best buddies so why are you hyper-focused on every little movement he's making. The way his hands move when he speaks, his eyes flit straight back to yours as if asking for reassurance after he speaks. You feel as if the whole tavern disappears when he's leaning in to speak to you over the chatter and bustle. As you're both sat there in your uniforms, you can't help but take in his appearance in its entirety. His green and silver tie is loosened as he sits back casually, his sleeves rolled up around his elbows and the top two buttons of his shirt undone.

The conversation between you two is so good you realise you've been sitting there entranced by what you have been saying for the last 20 minutes without even ordering anything. At the exact same time Sebastian seems to have noticed this too. He jumps up and gives you a wink while saying "I got this, I know just the thing." He walks over to the bar and exchanges a few words with Sirona. You take this moment to compose yourself although you can't help but feel giddy when you're around him. With his bad-boy attitude and his sense of humour, he's just so witty and charming. Before you know it, Sebastian is stood at the table holding a singular Butterbeer with two straws poking out of it. "Weird, isn't it? Sirona reckons she's all out of Butterbeer for the first time. This is the last of her supply for now." he says with a slight shrug as he places it in the middle of you both. "A butterbeer for two?" you muse. You glance over at the counter and notice Sirona is suppressing a slight smile as she busies herself wiping down the countertop. You look back at Sebastian and his perfectly messy hair, his dark eyes gleaming at you with adoration. Your fingers lightly brush off his as you both lean in close to the mug and reach for a straw. Your heart races as you notice how close his lips are to yours. But his lips don't quite reach the straw and neither do yours. You both pause for what feels like an eternity but in reality is only a few seconds. You decide to shift over closer to him on the bench so your arms are touching. He gets a burst of courage and brushes away a flyaway hair off of your face and behind your ear. You shudder and look at his face and notice him looking at your mouth. He pushes his lips onto yours. Without hesitation, you kiss him back and relish in the bittersweet feeling of a friendship ending and blossoming into something more..
