'Do you see, Cid?' he thought as his vision failed like the rest of his broken body, the curse creeping over his flesh like the malignant thing it was. 'It’s done. I did it for you, for everyone. I just wish you could see it.'
The water lapped around him, under him, lifting him off the damp sand slightly, his heart beat struggling in a chest turning rapidly to stone.
'He knows, Mythos,' a voice he didn’t recognise echoed in his head, though he felt like he should, soothing, gentle like the waves lifting him. Then; 'quickly, quickly, we have but a moment.'

After sacrificing himself to destroy Origin and free Valisthea from Ultima’s influence, Clive wakes up in his younger body lying among the ruins of Phoenix Gate. With Ifrit under his control and the stolen powers of the other Eikon’s still at his disposal he knows that the monster he’d tried to defeat is still out there and that the world and its people are still in jeopardy. Summary
His hands were always warm, she found. The small crisscrossing scars that shaped his knuckles were dusted with fine blond hair, some old and others fresher than they should've been. Her life had been a palace surrounded by gardens, a windowless building filled with sharp swords, a castle built into the mountainside. His had been harder, carved into those hands, more sharp swords and fierce duty but at a different end than she was. It wasn't supposed to be this way, Templars and mages didn't fall in love.
