He couldn’t do it. He pressed his forehead to the back of Boyd’s shoulder and felt the words sticking in his throat like gravel. Tiny words that would upend their entire relationship. Because, what if he was wrong? What if Boyd never wanted to see his face ever again? Raylan didn’t know if he could survive that. Hiding that he was a boy was arduous, but it couldn’t be unsaid. And at least now he got this – got Boyd soft and sleepy or his eyes ablaze with his newest plot. Once he let the words out, it had to change.
