When a butterfly flaps its wings, the effects can be felt halfway around the world.
When Frances is very sick after giving birth to Raylan, and Helen is taking care of her ‘round the clock and keeping Arlo from hurting her, who’s going to take care of her newborn nephew and protect him from Arlo? A solution comes to mind. Her close friend Mags just had another baby a few months back and if she only needs to watch him for a month or two, hopefully she won’t mind. When she hears Arlo screaming at the baby through the phone, Mags agrees. Who knew that it would take Frances close to a year to fully recover and by the end of that year Raylan would be considered a full member of the Bennett family? Even when he is given back it’s still common to find him running around with Doyle and Dickie.

Summary
When Raylan gets an unexpected surprise he has a lot of choices to make, which is complicated when Ava and Boyd decide to make it clear to everyone around that he’s theirs, regardless of his opinion on the matter. Part of him doesn’t mind, he knows they’re doing it because they care, but do they really have to be so blatant about it?
“He hadn’t gotten around to standing up yet, hit with a dizzy spell, when he felt more than saw Ava sit next to him on the floor. She had a damp rag and put it against his temple, pulling him back a bit so that he was leaning on her, and while normally he would have fought it, at this moment it felt good, and he stayed where she put him. Besides, he was still recovering from the gunshot wound and this position hurt a lot less than kneeling curled up over the toilet.”

Summary
When Raylan arrived in Lexington he did not want be here, let alone anywhere near Kentucky, and he was most certainly ok with everything that had happened prior. The only reason he was so upset was that he was too close to where he grew up and swore he would never return to. But he couldn’t help but notice his co-worker who reminded him too much of himself when he left home, who didn’t seem to have a single person who he was close with or that cared about him beyond work, and that just brought up more memories.
So if Raylan paid attention to and started focusing on Tim, that meant that he didn’t have to focus on the shambles his life was currently in. And if maybe having someone to focus on and take care of settled him some, he definitely wasn’t saying. And it was working wonders on the kid, who wasn’t really a kid, but seemed like one to Raylan. And he responded so well to the attention, it made sense to spend more time with him. By the time Raylan realized that he was treating Tim like a pup, like his pup, it wasn’t worth bringing up and creating an awkward situation when it seemed like everyone was on the same page.
For the record, Tim would like everyone to know that he had no clue how this happened.

He remembered being up in the hills with his kin and Mary telling him “If it ever gets too loud boy, you drink this and imagine a bubble around yourself, alright? One that’s hard and will protect you, and it will help you shield yourself from all that noise you hear.” Raylan hadn’t quite understood at the time, but she was helping him to learn to tune out what most folks didn’t see or hear. His Mama’s family, the McKinleys, they all had some amount of the Gift going back generations from before they even came to Kentucky apparently. His Mama had a knack for spells, and his Aunt Helen one for potions, but his cousin Mary had the one he had, a gift for Seeing. And he unfortunately had it stronger than most.
When Raylan left home he wound up in New Orleans, and spent several years there before he left, running from his life there, and all he had learned until it came back to haunt him in Kentucky.

Summary
Morning Conversations is a modern day AU Universe with Herongraystairs as it’s main pairing. It is meant solely for fluff, no angst allowed.
Some background on the verse:
Tessa is 100% a bookstore owner. Jem is a very famous violinist, think on the level of Yo Yo Ma. Will is a writer. He’s not ultra famous or anything, but he does have a loyal following. The next book he’s working on is going to be the one that launches him to big name author!
He sometimes helps out at Tessa’s bookshop, but not often because separating him from the books is near impossible. And he picks up odd jobs here or there while he’s writing. One month he’s working as a secretary, the next a barista, the month after that as a waiter. He used to have a full time job but it made him absolutely miserable.
So with much support from Jem and Tessa, he quit to focus on writing full time since they both had stable incomes. But since he is very independent, and doesn’t want to feel like a kept-boy, he does odd jobs to supplement income from his book proceeds.
