“Honey, I’m home!” Becky’s voice rings out through the condo. The jingling of keys can be heard as she puts up her shoes and hat.
Freen smiles and puts down her book. She’s been waiting to hear that. She bounds towards her best friend, engulfing her in a big hug. “Finally! I missed you.”
“Aw, I wasn’t gone for long.” Becky’s laugh soothes her aching chest like a balm. It’s her favorite sound.
“Doesn’t matter.” She sticks her nose on Becky’s pulse point. “Any time is too long.”
Now that Becky is back from her errands, Freen has the rest of the day to cuddle up and stay close to her. Whether at home or somewhere outside, her favorite thing to do is spend time with Becky.
The younger girl snorts as she nudges Freen away. “Hey! That tickles!”
I know, she thinks. That’s why I did it.
Freen follows her into the kitchen, opening the bags and helping to put away the groceries. Even though Becky has an apartment (or flat, as she calls it) of her own, she prefers to hang out at Freen’s. Thus, it makes sense to keep food and other things at the place where they will be used. Together, they make quick work of organizing the items.
When they fall back to the couch, Freen finally does what she wanted to do since Becky came back. She grabs the younger woman’s jaw with both hands and scatters light kisses all around Becky’s face. Forehead, chin, eyelids, bridge of the nose, under the eyes, apples of her cheeks, and everything in between. She watches as the blonde scrunches up her nose, knowing how ticklish she gets.
“What’s up with you?” Becky asks between giggles.
“Just happy you’re home.” Freen lays her ear, closing her eyes as she listens to the steady thumping in the other woman’s chest. “Love you.”
