You are sitting in Wayne Manor, looking out through the large windows of your armchair by the fireplace into the night and the storm. It's too intense to go outside, Gotham has to manage on its own for a few days. It's already past midnight and Alfred is in bed. The embers in the fireplace are only glowing red, and you are still sitting in the armchair, almost dozing off and pondering. You hear bare feet padding across the floor. It's Dick, in his pajamas.
"I can't sleep," he whispers and sits on your lap, just like a little child. He rests his head on your shoulder, and you stroke his hair while wrapping the woolen blanket around him. After a while, he falls asleep, and you carefully slide your arms under him and lift him up. When you arrive at your large, rumpled bed (Dick's room is on the first floor, and you don't want to climb the stairs with him), you lay him down gently. He sighs softly and snuggles into the pillows. After taking one more look at the nocturnal storm, you hang your dressing gown over the back of a chair. Then, you slip carefully under the covers and move over to Dick, who is lying on the left side. You wrap your arms around him, and he cuddles up to you. With your nose in his wonderfully fragrant brown hair, you close your eyes and fall asleep.
