" Go... outside?"

"Mhm, You've never been outside, right?"  Fright's head tilted slightly to the side, contemplating Irwin's response. "The garden here seems lovely! I'm sure you will like it."

He didn't reply, only stood there in silence for a brief moment, but before Irwin could say anything its quiet voice cut them off. "Will... Go..."

The kid smiled, grasping his much larger hand in their own. It wasn't that big, compared to the other entities they were the shortest after all (which scared Fright a lot).

They'd been thinking about this for some time, Fright doesn't leave his room(Door 79A) ever, so they thought a little walk to the courtyard might help alleviate its stress and fear, at least a little, and make him feel more comfortable in the building. They, themself1, were getting antsy though. It's not like they dislike the dark room, but they were itching for a new change of scene for once. So what's better than a short trip to the courtyard garden with their friend? They'd never been anywhere else with him anyway, so it might be a nice change for him as well.

Hand in hand, the two walked there. The beautiful place was well kept, almost as good as Traplight kept the dining room. To Irwin, it was an enigma who kept it but the others concluded it may be Virus or Gray Glow taking care of it.

No words were spoken, the only sound heard was Fright's footsteps and shivers, every other sound being drowned out by the entity's shaky stomping. Occasionally, they passed a window and looked outside. It was dark, but it wasn't raining. Heavy clouds loomed ominously overhead, but they brushed it off, it was probably another rainstorm approaching. Though, nobody minded. Everybody loved the rain, it was calming, comforting and chased bad thoughts away.

The metal door was pushed open, the cold air immediately hitting them both. Has it always been this cold? No matter, they were here now and it was truly lovely. Irwin rushed towards the green nature as Fright took one step at a time nervously, a bit hesitant due to the unfamiliar area, but it followed the small child.

The luscious greenery swayed gently as the wind blew across the elegant yard. The cold air nipped at their skin as more clouds loomed over. Irwin's head turned to Fright, who was awkwardly standing still besides them. They giggled, he just looked like a confused and frightened dog. Irwin had always seen how the clouds formed through the window but they never really got to be outside from what they can remember. Fright may have felt conflicted about this all, but perhaps it just needed to get used to this new environment.

Specks of white glitter suddenly dotted their vision. Then again. And again. They looked up. Crystal snow had begun gently falling from the upper atmosphere. Their eyes widened slightly at this sight. Irwin wouldn't remember the last time they laid their eyes on actual falling snow. It was Fright's first time witnessing this and it kinda amazed him.

More and more snowflakes fell from the sky, landing on the shrubbery below, sparkling the moonlight flawlessly. They bend down, admiring the scenery of the plants and the white snow meshed together, beautifully.

The youngster turned around, about to speak but paused as they watched Fright attempt to catch snowflakes while cupping its claws outwards as it felt them flutter around it. Small clumps of snow formed on its hands, a smile forming on the child's lips before realizing he put some of it in its mouth.

Fright perked and looked at them, seemingly oblivious.

Irwin stood there absolutely dumbfounded for what felt like forever, as Fright crunched the snow like it was a normal thing to do.

"Cold..."  It deadpanned, feeling more snow settle on his stone-like skin.

The two of them face the sky, watching the beautiful snow fall and land on their heads.

Once more, Fright turned to the young one, its tongue slightly sticking out in what they thought to be an attempt to catch more snow.

Their laugh echoed throughout the garden, fondness and infatuation evident. He didn't need to be scared anymore but it's going to be hard when around the entities of this hotel.

The snow continued to flutter quietly, but nothing mattered now. Both of them sat at the stairs, watching the snowfall as they enjoyed the warmth of each other's presence and company. Sure, Fright tried to eat a whole chunk of snow and almost choked on it, but in the end, it was fun.

The temperature was unrelenting, but having each other was enough to keep them warm.

Truly, moments like these were some they all wished to last longer.
