Chapter Text
<And then I say "what took you so long"?> Barnaby finished the joke. As expected, everyone started laughing except for Frank.
<I don't get it> Frank said crossing his arms. Julie walked over to him and hugged him
<Oh Frank you always don't know when to laugh> said Wally. Frank gave him an angry look. Wally just laughed. Today Everyone in the neighborhood decided to have a "picnic day". Completely ignoring that Frank said there was no such day as "picnic day".
<Don't be rude, Wally> scolded Poppy. But none of those present cared and continue to have fun. Sally finished her flower crown and put it on Eddie's head making them both laugh. Barnaby patted Wally to get his attention.
<Yes Barnaby?> Barnaby handed him a small red ball, Wally beamed and quickly grabbed the ball. He gets up from colorful picnic blanket And he runs with Barnaby holding the ball high above his head.
It didn't take long for Barnaby to catch him.
<Okey okey, here you go > Wally laughed and tossed the ball. Barnaby ran after the ball.
<We should do it more often> says Julie and lay down next to the basket.
<You mean we should make more "picnic days"?> Howdy said as he pulled an apple out of the basket. Frank snorted.
<I told you, there's no such thing as "Picnic Day"> He crossed his arms. Julie handed him a apple.
<But you're celebrating with us~~> Julie sang. Frank smiled slightly and took the apple.
<Well now this exist> Sally said proudly. Frank rolled his eyes and watched Wally and Barnaby play. He frowned and looked at Wally more closely
<Have you noticed Wally's been acting a little different lately?>
<What do you mean?> asked Eddie and just as Frank looked at Wally. He looked the same as usual. Cheerful and smiling. Eddie looked questioningly at Frank.
<I don't see anything strange about him>
<I know it's hard to explain but something just isn't right with him> Frank looked at Julie, hoping she would support him. Julie looked worried at Frank.
<I don't remember Wally doing anything weird> Julie said honestly. Frank sighed. Something was wrong with Wally but he couldn't put a finger on it. He doesn't know where it came from, after all, Wally was acting normal the whole time, as annoying and cheerful as ever. But something told Frank that things weren't as usual. Something happened recently, but Frank can't remember what.
<Something happened Frank?> Asked Barnaby, who had returned with a blue ball.
<Frank thinks there's something wrong with Wally!> Shouted Sally waving her arms towards Frank.Barnaby looked at him questioningly.
<Well, he is faster than usual if you ask me> Barnaby said casually.
<It's not that, I just feels like something's is wrong- >
<What's wrong with what Frank?> Said Wally, who had just appeared behind Frank. Frank jumped up and almost bumped into Eddie.
<Oops, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you> Wally laughed softly. Frank was about to say something but Wally interrupted him and looked up at the sky.
<Evening is coming> After that, everyone looked up at the sky. It's true, evening is coming. They could already see the setting sun and feel the summer breeze touching their shoulders.
‘’Huh that's weird, i could swear the day just started”Eddie thought.
<Oh no, there's still so much things to do> Julie says upset as she packed everything back into the basket.
<Don't worry Julie, we can do another picnic day tomorrow> Poppy tries to cheer her up. And she looked at the rest of the neighbors who nodded in agreement.
<YEA!>Sally agreed and hugged Julie tightly. Julie brightened up and hands the basket to Howdy.
<Well, we shouldn't stay outside for too long. See you tomorrow!> Howdy said goodbye.
<It's time for me too> said Eddie. After that, all the neighbors said goodbye to each other and goes to their homes. Barnaby was the only one who decided to walk his best friend Wally home. The sun had already set enough that the whole neighborhood was covered with a dark pink color
<Hey Wally?> Barnaby asked suddenly with a little worry in his voice.
<Yes?> Barnaby began fiddling with his fingers nervously as he stared into his friend's eyes.
<Earlier, Frank said you acted differently> Wally smiled kindly.
<Oh, how different?> Barnaby scratched his head.
<He just couldn't explain it to us> Wally laughed, surprising Barnaby.
<Oh Barnaby, I fink you should learn Frank how to makes jokes.>
<Jokes?>Barnaby asked, not understanding what his friend meant. After all, jokes and Frank usually didn't go well together. And Frank who makes jokes, Barnaby doesn't think anyone would ever live to see such a moment.
<I told him earlier that he didn't know when to laugh> Confessed Wally.
<He probably wanted to make a joke about me after that, but he failed> Barnaby laughed. Yes, that made more sense now. Frank probably wanted to prank Wally to show him that he could laugh.
<I can teach him tomorrow, you'll want to help me?> Barnaby said through a laugh.
<It would be delightful> Wally and Barnaby stopped in front of Home.
<Well see you tomorrow Wally> Barnaby said goodbye. Wally says goodbye too and entered the Home. The door immediately closed behind him. The house was dark and the only light was the setting sun outside the window. Wally looked around. He wanted to turn on the light, but something told him that it wouldn't work anyway. Wally began pacing the house something happened or is going to happen today. He can't remember the last time his day was so short. A small crack echoed around the house.
<Home?> Wally walked towards the crack. The Home said nothing. He stopped in front of the bathroom door, which was slightly ajar.Wally closed his eyes and opened the door wider. When he was inside, he waited a minute and when he was sure that he wouldn't see anything, he opened his eyes. The white light of the bathroom blinded him for a moment. And when he got used to the light, he saw a large colorful suitcase and a large hole in front of it. Wally stared frozen for a moment unsure of how to react.
So it's finally time to visit David.
Wally walked over to the suitcase, avoiding eye contact with the mirror. Grabbing the suitcase he looked at the hole in the wall it was dark inside. Wally stood there for a moment before finally daring to enter.
<Goodbye Home> Wally voice could still be heard for a while as he moved farther and farther away. There were many thoughts in his head as he walked across the concrete floor. He has to come up with a good act. Because if David acted like his neighbors after his visit, he's pretty sure he doesn't remember him. Wally still remembers his little disappointment. When the next day waiting for one of his neighbors to ask what happened to his brother. No one seemed to remember the day before.
‘’It could be worse”Wally thought as his foot touched a scrap of old newspaper. He really didn't want to know what he could found here. Everywhere was dark and dirty. Several times he came across empty cans, most likely with paint, some old children's toys and several cardboard boxes.
‘’Why here?” Wouldn't a door be better. He'd probably even get to David's house sooner than he does now. Something moved in the darkness Wally didn't want to find out what it was and kept walking forward. Something fell again he sped up. The sooner he gets out of here the better. Wally could see a bright light in the distance his exit. He didn't even notice how his walk turned into a run. He really didn't want to be here in this hole or in the middle of the wall anymore. As he reached the exit, Wally suddenly stopped. He didn't know why he stopped. Did someone make him stop? Or maybe it was his subconscious that told him to stop. Wally waited for a moment to something to change but nothing happened. Finally Wally came out of the wall.
It turned out that the entrance led to the outside of the house. ‘’It makes sense’’ Wally realized that if he wanted things to go well, he had to pretend he lived somewhere else entirely. After all, wouldn't his brother and his friends be angry if they found out what was under their house? Well, theoretically under the house, it's hard to say how their places are really connected. Anyway Wally could already see the pink house in the distance. ‘’Okay Wally everything will be fine”He was trying to calming himself down. He cautiously placed his steps in front of the blue door and, after a moment's of hesitation he knocked. Wally nervously waited outside, a bit worried as he didn't hear anything from inside the house.
‘’Are they even home today?” Wally began to wonder. He was about to knock a second time when the door opened. On the other side was David who was staring at him curiously.
<Hello, what can I help you> Wally corrected his red necktie. His brother looks different from the last time he saw him.
<Hello younger brother, I hope you are not angry by my visit.> His voice was confident, which made Yellow guy let him in.
<Brother? Since when I have an older brother?> Yellow guy asked, though the question sounded as if he had asked it for himself.
<Since ever, David> Wally said, trying to sound amused. The Yellow guy looked at him questioningly, as if the word "David" meant the name of an unknown fruit.
<David?> Wally swayed slightly.
<Um sorry. And what do you want me to call you?> The Yellow guy thought for a moment.
<Hmyy most people call me Yellow guy, Manny and sometimes Doi. But Manny sounds just fine>
<Manny, I got it> Wally confirmed that he understood. And looked again at his little brother.
<You changed your hairstyle?> He asked innocently, hoping to start some sort of normal conversation.Manny touched the top of his head and shook his head.
<Umm no, I don't think so> Ah, so Wally needs to find a new topic to conversation starter.Wally looked around at the living room.
<Where are your friends?> Manny perked up a bit when Wally mentioned his roommates.
<Oh, they were saying something with a crossword and now they're trying to guess what word it is or something like that> The end of his sentence sounds sad and Wally wondered what could have caused it.
<Well, if you want, we can play something while they're busy> Manny smiled and waited to see what his guest who was also his brother would come up with. Wally again looked around the living room. Quite easily he spotted a piece of paper and a pencil.
<We can draw something what do you say?> Wally pointed to the spot where was drawing items. Manny quickly took the mentioned items and sat down on the floor waiting for Wally. He sat down and watched what his younger brother would come up with to draw. Manny holds the pencil for a while. Wally patiently waited to see what his brother would draw. Finally he began to slowly draw something. Several times Manny erased the drawing and started drawing it again.
<Look i finished> Manny proudly showed him the drawing. Wally carefully picked up the drawing. The drawing shows a person dressed in some sort of a costume.Wally tilted his head, not knowing what he was looking at.
<It's a clown!> Manny said cheerfully.Wally smiled at his brother's enthusiasm and patted his head.
<This looks very good> He praised. Wally was handing over another piece of paper to Manny when someone suddenly entered the living room.
<Hey, I think we've got this under control- > Red guy stopped suddenly and stared at Wally.
<And who are you?> Wally stared in a little shock forgetting how to speak for a moment. Manny looked at Wally and then at Red guy.
<This is my older brother Wally, he came to a visit> Red guy was about to say something when Duck came into the living room.
<Phew, finally done, you don't even know how hard it was- who are you?> Duck pointed his finger at Wally.
<Oh. This is Manny's older brother. He just came to a visit> Said the Red guy calmly as if he'd known it all along, when in fact he only found out a few seconds ago.
<Older brother huh. Since when do you have a older brother?> Duck started judging.
<Umm, always?> Manny said, though he sounded a little hesitant.Wally silently watched the whole situation. He wasn't sure if this was the right time to say something. Red guy looked at Wally again.
<Hmm, have we met before?, I'm pretty sure I've seen you somewhere> Wally looked at him and thought for a moment.
<I don't thinks so um mister?> Wally really doesn't remember ever seeing anyone who looks like Red guy. The Red guy just shrugged.
<You can call me Harry or just Red guy if you want. And this one here we just call him Duck> Harry pointed a finger at Duck who now looks indignant.
<Oh so you can have two different names but I can't?!> Duck screamed and stepped closer to him. Harry seemed tired and didn't care at all about his roommate's sudden outburst of anger.
<Okay, what else would you like to be called?> He said it calmly and a little anoyd. As if they've had a similar conversation before. Duck thought for a moment.
<Hmyyy. I always knew Robin was a good name for me > Harry sighed in frustration and shook his head.
<Okay, i'm not going to call you that>
<My name Robin is not for you, Manny's brother can call me that> Duck pointed at Wally. Wally, meanwhile, preferred to remain silent. As he subconsciously held his little brother's hand. Who seemed used to what was going on around here. Not that Wally didn't have similar situations in his neighborhood. Quite often he was or witnessed someone arguing with Frank but what is happening here seemed a little different.
<My brother's name is Wally> Manny said after a moment. But the way he said it sounded more like he was trying to remember it.
<it's nice to meet you all> Wally finally managed to speak. Harry and Duck looked at each other and then back at Wally.
<So how long are you staying> Harry asked.
<Excuse me?> Wally wasn't sure what Harry meant.
<Well, you've got a rather large suitcase here, so you're probably staying for a while> Duck pointed at the mentioned suitcase. Wally suddenly realized what was going on. Right, the suitcase he forgot about. Just by looking at her size, one can deduce that Wally is staying for a few days.
<Is it rude to ask a guest how many days he going to stay?> Manny asked. Duck and Harry thought for a moment.
<To be honest i don't know> admitted Harry.
<Yeah…. me neither> Duck said and looked down as if he lost in thought. There was an uncomfortable silence in the living room.
<Well, let's go back to what we were doing> Harry said as if he had completely forgotten about the conversation that had just taken place. Manny raised his hands in pure joy.
<Yay, time for a opening song!>
<Wait for wha- > Wally wanted to ask but was interrupted by a song starting from an unknown source.
There's three of us
There's three of us
Look closely, you will see!
There's three of us
Just three of us
There's him, and you, and me!
And everyday we all hang out
To find out what we talk about!
And every day's a new surprise
which we don't know about
Manny looked at his brother
<It's your turn to say something> he whispered.
Oh I don’t know-
That's three of us
Just three of us
Us three!
And our special guest my big brother! Manny shouted quickly.
The song ends. They returned to the living room and Wally wasn't sure what he had witnessed. Sure, when his day started and he left the Home he would say good morning to himself and he would say his course of the day but this was much different. Harry and Duck went to the kitchen. Manny took his hand and they went to the kitchen too.
<Well, since we have a guest here, it would be good to show you everything> Harry said as he opened the fridge. Manny encouraged him to come over.
<Ehem, so that's our milk, that's our eggs, that's our orange juice oh and that's our old dinner> Harry was pointing where everything was.
<Kiiillll meeee> Old dinner groaned.
<ignore it> Harry said quickly and closed the fridge.
<Maybe we should show him our plate collections> Said Duck who was sitting on a chair next to the table.
<I'm really glad you want to show me so much but- >
<Oh oh I know I know. Let's show him our living room> Manny said happily. Wally wanted to say he'd seen their living room before, but he didn't want to ruin his brother's joy. They returned to the living room, Manny pointing out many things.
<And this is my chair, our clock>
<Hello>
<Our fireplace and window>
<Okey, okey stop It. I think we're doing this wrong > Harry said and Duck agreed.
<Oh...> Manny gets upset. Wally quickly crouched beside him.
<No no no, It was great. You can continue> Wally tried to comfort him.
<Well, I think otherwise> Harry said as if it was nothing. And If Harry saw Wally's dead eyes staring at him, he probably ignored them.
<You look like dad now> Manny noticed, Wally quickly corrected himself and looked happy again.
<Don't be silly, Manny> Wally picked him up and they both laughed lightly. Manny wasn't sure when was the last time he'd been lifted like this but he was happy, and that was all that mattered now.
<What are they doing? > Duck asked
<I don't know> Harry whispered.
<So what we should do now> Duck said and looked around. It was obvious that he was tired of showing the guest around.
<Maybe you all should play outside> a baseball bat sang cherfully.
<Outside but why?> Manny asked as his feet touched the ground again. Baseball bat laughed.
<To play, of course, everyone knows that the best fun is outdoors> Wally wanted to agree. After all, he goes outside every day to play.
<That sounds tiring> Harry sighed.
<Don't be silly come on guys!> Before Wally noticed, he and the others were in a different place again. This time they were in the forest and another song started to play.
You can plays so many thing outside
You can makes so many rules for them as you want
You can play with a football ball
And kick as far away from here as possible
You can play hopscotch and jump so many times
Harry stumbled as he jumped
ops you mess up
Or you can play catch with your family
Wally caught the red ball that Manny had thrown to him at the last moment.
Good catch!
Or you can play tag with a bear
<Wait what> Duck was in the tree when the bear was trying to get him
OoO I don't think this was a good idea my friend
Or you can swim race in the lake
Swim swim
Or you can play with a baseball bat like me, just looks up at the head
Wally was next to Duck when the baseball bat cut off Duck's head. Blood splattered Wally's face. The rest of the song was silenced for him. Unwanted memories started circling his head.
<It's getting late Frank>Wally said while he and Frank were hunting butterflies in the woods.
<I know Wally, but I really need to catch this one> Frank said as he crept to the next bush.Wally wasn't sure it was a good idea to stay outside. The day was ending dangerously fast. Or so he thought, today their day was longer than usual and Wally didn't think it was a good idea to extend their luck further. Frank suddenly jumped and threw the net but unfortunately he didn't catch anything. Frank's face became annoyed.
<We've got all day tomorrow to hunt butterflies again, Frank> Wally encouraged, hoping Frank would listen. However, Frank did not give up and continued to walk away. Wally didn't like it. The farther they were away. the easier it was to see the imperfections of this place. Wally looked around and saw the sun disappearing dangerously close to the horizon.
<Frank please, it's getting dark> Frank silenced him when he pointed to a butterfly that was sitting on the trunk of a severed tree. Slowly and carefully, Frank approached the butterfly. And with a quick movement of his hands he caught a very colorful and shiny green butterfly in the net. Happiness flooded Frank's face.
<Look Wally I got him!> Wally, however, couldn't be happy with Frank.
<Wally?>Frank frowned as his friend's face wore a worried expression. The forest was almost dark.
<Hey, don't worry, we're coming home now> Frank wanted to go to Wally, but something snapped.Frank looked up,huh. Since when did the sky look so... fake? Wally wanted to run to Frank but he was too late.A piece of metal cloud fell from the sky straight into Frank's neck, cutting it instantly.Wally watched numb as the blood spilled onto the grass, making a big puddle. Wally's knees buckled and collapsed on the grass, still staring at his friend's corpse. Everything became so quiet. Wally didn't know what to do. What should he do? He certainly can't tell the rest of his friends.
<I...I can fix him> Wally stood up and walked closer to Frank's body. He picked up Frank butterfly net. And carefully as he could he lifted his head and put it in the net. He then grabbed Frank's legs and slowly dragged him home. Now Wally was glad it was night. All his neighbors are sleeping now. So they won't see what he's doing now. He managed to drag Frank's body home. Home opened the door quietly and let them in. Wally decided that the best place would be the bathroom, after all, that's where the first aid kits are. Wally laid Frank so that he was leaning against the bath tub. He took Frank head out of the bloody net and placed it next to Frank body as he opened the cupboard.
He managed to find a pastel pink first aid kit.He opened it quickly. There were a few pastel bows inside. plastic stethoscope, colored patches, toy thermometer and small scissors .
<That will have to suffice for now> Wally took bows and scissors and some patches. He carefully tried to tie Frank's head back into place. Unfortunately, it fell several times. On the tenth time, Wally got up and went into the living room. He quickly found a needle and thread. He went back to the bathroom and started his work again. This time Frank's head stayed where it was.
<Alright, you should be okay now> Wally tied the bow around Frank's neck, hiding the thread marks. Frank still looks dead.
<Come on Frank. wake up>Wally begged, It should work why It doesn't? Wally started to shake and tears began to run down his yellow face. This should work. Why is this not working ?
Wally felt a hand on his shoulder. His dad is here.
<D-Dad?> Wally tried to wipe away his tears as he looked at Roy. He could see how his dad's face had a different expression than usual.More focused. Slowly Roy approached the body of his elder son's friend. He crouched beside it and watched.
<Dad, please tell me you can fix it > Roy roared something unintelligible under his breath. Roy stared at Frank's body for a few more moments. Finally he turned to Wally. Tears welled up in Wally's eyes again. For the first time Roy's face was express a emotion that you could understand .His expersion on his face was said "I'm so sorry". It couldn't be real. Doesn't his mom make backups. I'm sure she has some backups for his friends.
Right?
Suddenly, long arms were wrapped around him. Wally only cried as his dad tried to comfort him.
<Hello, big brother Wally?> Manny tried to wake him from his trance. Wally finally remembered where he was. He was sitting in a chair that belonged to Manny.
<Oh, hello Davi- Manny, I'm sorry did i miss something> Wally tried to sound as normal as he could, but his voice was still slightly wavering.
<Well, you sat like that for a long time.> Harry said.
<Yea, we already thought you'd be sitting like this for the entire visit. Which would be very rude of you>Said Duck who had apparently come back to life. Wally looked at Manny. His younger brother stared at him curiously.
<You have something on your face> Manny showed on his face where Wally's face is already stained with blood. Wally touched the spot carefully and quickly removed his hand.
<Oh, I'm sorry. I have to go to the bathroom> Wally gets up from the chair.
<the bathroom is straight ahead> Harry said as he pulled out a newspaper and started reading it. Wally ran to the bathroom. The loud slam of the door gave him a headache. He leaned heavily against the sink. And turned on the cold water.
Look Wally I got him.
Cold water splashed his face.
Wally do you know Where is Frank?
As Wally struggled to control his breathing.
Wally where are you ?
He loosened his red necktie so he could pour cold water over his neck.
Oh Wally
Wally looked in the mirror and frozen. He completely forgot that this was there. There was a pink scar on Wally's neck. Wally doesn't remember how he got it. And I'd rather not know. That scar meant something. Something very important. But Wally didn't want to know. He carefully tried to tie his red necktie. But his hands were shaking too much. Panic began to flood Wally again.
<Hey Wally, can I come in? > Manny's muffled voice came through the door.Wally wanted to say no, but the door opened anyway.Manny looked at his brother.
<You still have dirt on your face> Manny took out a towel and washed Wally's face. Wally didn't even notice the moment he was sitting on bathroom floor. He wanted to tie his red necktie again. But the fingers still refused to obey him.
<Here let me help you> Manny tied his red necktie. It might not have been tied up too well, but what mattered was that it hide the scar. Wally stared at his brother for a moment.
<I'm so sorry Manny >Wally said quietly, but enough for his brother to hear him.
<For what? You don't do anything wrong I think>
<I was supposed to take care of you, and it ended up being you who had to take care of me> Manny scratched his head.
<Well, what I think I know is that brothers should take care of each other, Plus I had a fun time with you> Wally hugged his brother. The hug was nice and warm. If it had been up to the two of them, they probably wouldn't have let go. Someone screams outside the bathroom.
<Time for dinner> Manny said and walked away from the hug.
<Oh, what's for dinner?>Wally asked A flash of memory of the dinner that was in the fridge flashes through his head.
<Spaghetti!> Manny shouted, waving his arms in joy. The atmosphere in the bathroom has completely changed. Manny took Wally's hands and began to pull him to his feet.
<Spaghetti is my favorite dish, and what's your favorite dish?> Wally thought for a moment. Honestly he didn't have a favorite dish. Especially since he usually avoids food.
<Apples of course > Finally he answered. Manny wasn't sure how to respond to that answer. Since when apples are a dish, or maybe his brother's apples mean something else. Well, he was too excited to ask now. Manny dragged his brother out of the bathroom and led him into the kitchen. Where an extra chair and plate were already standing. No one said anything to the appearance of the two of them. They sat on the mentioned chairs next to each other. There was already food on their plates. Harry and Duck were already eating, Manny quickly joined them. Wally looked down at his plate. It was a regular spaghetti dish. After a moment's hesitation, he joined them too. For some reason the spaghetti was cold.
Dinner passed in silence. Once they were done, Wally took his suitcase and Harry led him to the guest room.
<This is your room, our rooms are opposite yours> Harry said in his monotone voice. Wally nodded that he understood. Moments later, Harry left the guest room. Wally put the suitcase on the bed, he finally has time to find out what's in there. He carefully opened the suitcase. Inside the suitcase were his change of clothes and pajamas. His painting supplies and a small, soiled paper box were also there.
<Huh> Wally picked up the box and shook it.There was something in it, but for now he didn't want to check it out and put the box back in the suitcase. After a few minutes he was ready for bed, putting on his clothes next to the chair. Through the walls he could hear a loud "Goodnight Wally". Wally smiled and went to bed.
Wally was in a dark corridor. He wasn't sure what he was doing there. But the feeling of fear and terror made him go forward.
<Hello It's someone there?> Wally shouted but no one came . He was going farther and farther. Finally, something moved and made a noise. Wally ran to the sound. Something moved again. Wally tried to reach the sound faster and faster. He finally stopped, there was nothing here. Wally looked around but still nothing appeared.
<W..al.lyyy> Wally jumped up and immediately he turned around. Wally was speechless. Behind him was Frank. His neck was dripping with stale blood and the bows tied to it were far too tight. Wally could also see that his friend's head was already at an advanced stage of decomposition. Full of larvae covered Frank's head and some of them fell to the ground. Wally backed away, but Frank moved closer. Wally didn't want to see it. He didn't want to look at Frank's head. He closed his eyes tightly and counted to ten. Frank's steps stopped And Wally got the courage to open his eyes. Frank's head was gone and his body fell to the ground with a loud thud. Wally wanted to say something, but a sudden taste of copper attacked his mouth. He opened his mouth wider. Larvae and bits of flesh began to flow out of his mouth. Wally fell to his knees. More and more things fell out of his mouth. Wally wants to scream but it only makes him gag.
Wally woke up in a cold sweat. He quickly got up from the bed. And ran out of the guest room. He didn't even notice when he reached the kitchen and leaned against the sink. Several times his body tried to vomit, but nothing came out.
<Nightmare?> Harry asked without emotion. Wally jumped and turned around. Harry was sitting in a chair sipping his tea he stared blankly at Wally.
<It happens a lot in this house> He put down his cup and handed one cup to Wally. Amazingly, Wally managed to hold the cup.
<Let me guess, you ate your friend?> Wally stared at Harry in shock.
<H-how do you?> Harry just shrugged.
<Manny has these nightmares sometimes, he's literally doing the same thing you just did> Wally was lost for words and sat down next to him.
<If you want, me and Duck can take care of ourselves tomorrow. You and Manny will have all the time to yourself>
<It would be wonderful> Wally said slowly.
<Cool, you should go back to bed. Manny is quite energetic in the morning> Wally wanted to say he already knew that, but he was too exhausted. He got up from the chair and went back to the guest room.
He dreamed nothing more that night.
