Work Text:
Striga gasped, as she woke from her sleep.
A dream. Just a dream, she told herself. Though she hated that she was still dreaming those things. Haunted by her past and the implications of it. When in those dreams it at times was not only her human siblings dying, but her sisters, too. Her sisters and her wife. But here she was. Morana. Sleeping peacefully next to her. Unharmed. Because they were safe here. They had their own kingdom, had secured their borders just enough.
She rolled to her side, skuttling up closer to her wife, as she put one arm around her. Right now, she could not help herself, as she kissed that woman’s lips. A feeling that was so familiar by now.
She was alive, she reminded herself. They both were. They all were. And the feeling of relief flooding her, was almost overwhelming.
Now, Morana opened her eyes, looked at her. She did not say anything, because more than anyone she understood. Instead, she just returned that kiss, caressing Striga’s shoulder.
Their foreheads touched and after a moment, Striga found herself again. They were fine. They were safe. As long as they were together, everything was alright.
