Work Text:

“Hey, Bakugou, where are you heading?” Sero said as he got in Bakugou’s path.

“To the kitchen,” Bakugou told him with an eye roll. “Can you fucking move?”

“I mean… why would I when we are having such a fascinating conversation,” Sero tried with a smile.

Bakugou frowned, trying to go around Sero. Sero wasted no time stepping in front of him once more. “Do you wanna hang out? Get some food somewhere? Or maybe play some games in my room?”

“The fuck is this about,” Bakugou said with a sigh. “Did you idiots destroy the kitchen? Again?”

“Wha- Us? We are responsible heroes to be, and we would never do that!” Sero gasped in disbelief. Bakugou just raised an eyebrow, “Fine, we wouldn’t do it again.”

“Can I just fucking pass? I just want to get a drink.”

“Nope, can’t do that,” Sero said with a shrug.

Bakugou glared at him, “Fuck this.” He tried to push past Sero. He had taken maybe two steps before he fell to the ground, his whole body wrapped up in tape. “WHAT THE FUCK?!”

“Sorry, I promised to keep you away,” Sero admitted. “Please don’t kill me.”

“Who the fuck told you to keep me away?” Bakugou huffed.

“I have said too much already,” Sero told him as he grabbed onto Bakugou’s legs and started dragging him down the hallway.

“Let me go!” Bakugou shouted as he struggled against the tape, but he couldn’t break free from the angel he was in. “For fucks sake, soy sauce, stop it!”

“I’m on strict orders,” Sero said as he continued pulling.

“Look here, you mother fucker, I am going to kill you once I’m out of here!”

“I already have guaranteed protection, I think I’ll be fine,” Sero snorted.

“Oh, so Kirishima told you to do this?” Bakugou glared.

Sero flinched, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“You idiots only say you have protection if Kirishima is on your side of an argument or some shit!” Bakugou huffed, but now he couldn’t stop thinking about Kirishima. Why would Kirishima not want him to go to the kitchen? Something was going on and now he was wrapped up in fucking tape!

“Come on, man, just make this easier on the both of us,” Sero told him with a sigh.

“Tell me what’s going on and I’ll fucking consider it,” Bakugou huffed, his head dragging along the carpet. This was just fucking annoying at this point.

“Strict orders,” Sero repeated.

Bakugou let out a sigh, he better gets some fucking answers.

Kirishima groaned, “That doesn’t look right.”

“Nope, it really doesn’t,” Kaminari said as he tilted his head trying to figure out what was sitting on the counter in front of him.

Kirishima felt so defeated, the cake that they had been trying to make for over five hours looked… well… It was a disaster. It wasn’t fluffy and it was also lopsided. They had started icing it too early and it looked like half of it was melting. The letters on top were illegible. How could he mess this up so badly?

“I can’t give this to Bakugou!” Kirishima exclaimed.

“Yeah… he would reject you on the spot,” Kaminari said with a nod.

Kirishima groaned, “He would totally reject me on the spot… I would have to move schools… change my name…”

“Okay, maybe not your name, but yeah… nice knowing you, buddy,” Kaminari said, as he patted Kirishima’s back.

“I’m doomed,” Kirishima said, feeling defeated. He had tried to make a cake for Bakugou, knowing that -though the blond would never admit- he loves sweets. He was going to write Will you be my boyfriend? on top of the cake. It was cheesy, yes, but Bakugou liked that type of thing… or at least he hoped he did.

“I can’t show him this… I can’t-”

“Can’t show what?”

Kirishima and Kaminari froze, turning around to find Bakugou right at the entryway of the kitchen. Kaminari and Kirishima moved quickly to stand in front of the cake. “Nothing,” they said at the same time.

“I couldn’t stop him!” an out-of-breath Sero said as he ran in after Bakugou. “I’m so sorry.”

“What can’t you show, Kirishima?” Bakugou demanded to know, eyes narrowing.

“I- I don’t know- Who’s Kirishima?” Kirishima said, mentally kicking himself for saying that.

“And now you suddenly have amnesia?” Bakugou said as he rubbed at his temple.

“Umm… yes?” he tried, because what else could he do.

Bakugou took a step towards Kirishima, looking him straight in the eyes, “What are you hiding?”

“Maybe we can just-” Sero tried but Bakugou turned to glare at him, making him shut his mouth.

“I’m not hiding anything,” Kirishima tried once more.

“Why don’t I believe you,” Bakugou said, eyes staring straight at Kirishima.

Kirishima tried to swallow down his nerves, but it didn’t work. He couldn’t look at Bakugou, eyes wandering everywhere around the room.

“Kachan, maybe we should go and just chill somewhere so that we-”

“Spark plug, get out of here,” Bakugou ordered, letting out a couple of explosions from his hands, “now.”

Kaminari let out a small whimper and moved away. Kirishima quickly took a step to the side in order to cover the cake from view.

“Kirishima,” Bakugou said, voice low, a warning.

Kirishima should really not find Bakugou when he is about to kill him as hot as he did. “I don’t think you want to see it,” Kirishima winced.

“Move,” Bakugou told him.

Kirishima took a breath before taking a step to the side, feeling his face turn red in embarrassment. He watched as Bakugou took a step forward, looking at what was supposed to be a cake. Bakugou blinked a couple of times before he let out a short laugh, “That’s what you were so worried about?”

“Don’t laugh! I worked hard on it!” Kirishima pouted.

“It’s just…” Bakugou couldn’t finish as he started laughing, harder than before.

“Stop!” Kirishima told him, but a smile pulled at his lips, enjoying the sound of Bakugou’s laugh.

“Why did you ask discount Pikachu to help you?” Bakugou asked as he tried to catch his breath.

“I have my reasons,” Kirishima tried to defend himself.

“You could have asked me!” Bakugou told him, sounding a bit offended that he hadn’t been asked.

“He couldn’t ask you, it was meant for you,” Kaminari mumbled on the side.

“Dude!” Kirishima yelled, hands out as if to say what the hell?

“For me?” Bakugou said, turning to look at Kirishima.

“I-yeah,” Kirishima had to admit it. “I was trying to-”

“Don’t tell me,” Bakugou said before taking a step away. Kirishima thought he would leave, walk away and never talk to him. To his surprise, Bakugou went to grab a bowl, “I’ll help you make another one, then you can tell me.”

Kirishima blinked before a smile pulled on his lips, “Okay.”

He walked over to Bakugou, waving his two friends away who were snickering. He didn’t even have to ask Bakugou out today. This was enough. Spending time with Bakugou was enough. He went to stand behind Bakugou, listening to him explain the process of making a cake, glad that he had messed up the first one.
