Ed and Oswald were in their apartment, having a conversation about penguins and riddles, when they were interrupted by a knock on the door. Ed opened the door and was greeted by Jim and Harvey.
“Hi.” Ed said awkwardly.
“Is Oswald here?” Jim asked.
“....why?”
Jim walked past Ed into the apartment and walked over to Oswald.
“What do you want, Jim?” Oswald asked.
“You’re under arrest for the murder of Theo Galavan. You have the right to remain silent.” Jim arrested Oswald and dragged him out to the car. Harvey followed him. Ed didn’t know how to react.
A few days later, Ed went to visit Oswald in Arkham.
“Ed!” Oswald’s face lit up when he saw him.
“It’s good to see you. Are you ok?” Ed asked.
“Not really. But seeing you has made my day slightly better”
“You’re not alright? What’s wrong?”
“I’m in Arkham. Obviously, I’m not ok!”
“Right. Of course”
“Also, they’re torturing me here”
“What?”
“And I didn’t even commit the crime I was arrested for!”
“Ok you have to get out of here”
“That’s easier said than done”
“I’ll get you out of here. I promise”
“Thanks.” Oswald smiled and hugged Ed, before getting dragged away by guards.
Ed walked into Kristen’s office.
“I need to talk to you.” he said.
“Sure. What is it?” Kristen asked, curious.
“I don’t think Oswald killed Galavan”
“What makes you think he’s innocent?”
“He told me and I trust him to tell the truth. However, I don’t know how to prove it. I was hoping you could help me”
“I will see what I can do”
“Great!” Ed started stimming happily. Kristen smiled at him.
A few hours later, Kristen walked into Ed’s office with some files.
“I think I found something.” she informed Ed. She showed him the files.
“We have to take this to court and prove Oswald’s innocence!” Ed exclaimed. They took the files to the court to try to prove Oswald’s innocence. They were informed that the court had to review the new evidence, which would take a few days. Ed went to Arkham to tell Oswald about the plan to prove his innocence.
A week later, Ed went to Arkham to see Oswald get released. They went back to their apartment.
