Chapter Text
The SCP foundation had discovered a new anomaly deep within a cave, a strange, glowing, swirling portal. It was first discovered by a cave explorer, Henry Moore, and his friend Neil Sanderson. However, after discovering this remarkable discovery, Neil was stupid enough to enter the portal, never to be seen again. Henry in panic, climbed out of the cave, and once he had signal on his phone called the police. However instead of the police, a confused Henry was met with the SCP Personnel, whom administrated the amnesiac onto Henry, and Henry was promptly sent home with no memories of what had happened. The cave called REDACTED located near REDACTED had never had this anomaly before, so why this anomaly popped up out of nowhere was a mystery, and what was on the other side of the portal?. To solve that mystery, a D-class a thirty two year old male named Joseph Lopez whom was detained for murdering his whole family months ago, was to go through the portal and see what was on the other side.
'I didn't kill my family!' Joseph shrieked, tears streaming down his face, he then began to protest. 'The guy you saw on the security camera looked identical to me, but I assure you I wasn't at the house at that time, that wasn't me, I was in the pub with my mates!' one of the personnel, smirked before saying. 'Yeah. Yeah, sure psychopath. Get in that damn portal, or you'll meet the but of my gun.' Joseph wiped the tears from his face, and defeated, turned around and stared at the portal. It was swirling, and translucent, and just staring at it for a long time made him sick. Taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, Joseph then reluctantly went through the portal. Opening his eyes, Joseph saw that he was still in the exact same cave, but there was no one here. He was alone in the dark cave, the only source of light, being from him his helmet torch. Joseph grabbed the tiny drone, that looked like a bee, from his orange jumpsuit pocket. The drone was given to him by the foundation, so that the researchers will be able to see what's on the other side of the portal. Joseph pressed the red button which was on the bee drones back, and the drone, sprung to life, flying out of his hand and floating above Josephs head.
'Your in another dimension now. Follow me, and ill lead the way out of the cave' a researchers voice explained, from within the bee. After half an hour, Joseph emerged out of the cave, around him was a forest. Everything was lush and green, and the sky was blue, and the gleaming sun rose in the sky. Just an hour ago, in the other world, it was raining. 'So the weathers different' the robot bee said, its metallic wings, flapping. 'Well lets head to the nearby town, to see if anything else is different'. Joseph mindlessly followed the robotic bee, in his mind, he was cursing the SCP foundation for using him as a test subject. The SCP foundation dealt with countless anomalies, so why couldn't they believe Joseph when he told them it was a doppelganger that had murdered his family in cold blood.
They eventually reached a cardboard sign nailed onto a tree, it read out in capital letters. MANDELA COUNTY, alongside a arrow that pointed left. Joseph's eyes narrowed in confusion, and he scratched the back of his head nervously. 'Pretty sure its supposed to say Summerside County.' The robotic bee that was floating in front of the sign, responded. 'We are in a different dimension, so of course things will be different'. On the left side was a road, and a number of cars passed by. Joseph looked right and then left, before crossing the road and into Mandela County.
