Poems to an Angel

Summary:

Wolfwood's small collection of poems that he'd rather die than ever expose to anyone else. Added on to as the inspiration comes.

Chapter 1: Yearning

Chapter Text

Back on that planet of sand,
there was never any time for love.
No safety, nothing to seek,
no solace from the heavens above.

I was lost, I was trapped,
I dragged the chains to my cross.
But in someone, eyes river blue,
not everything seemed at a loss.

His smile follows me,
there in every life.
In his eyes,
he tells me I don't have to continue the strife.

My lives have been heavy.
I've grown weary,
carrying the weights of my sins.
He's always been there when my sight grows too bleary.

This life is a desert,
He's become my shade.
In his feathers,
is in peace I've stayed.

It's been so long,
since I knew such kindness.
Your words, your touch,
they make me realize my blindness.

I've been lying to myself,
seeking the wrong solutions.
I stand by you,
no longer committing executions.

I dedicate my prayers to you,
seeking my salvation.
My heart sings your hymns,
you are my liberation.

My life has changed,
from a breeze, not a typhoon.
So kind, so gentle,
it's you who makes my heart swoon.

In the next life, too,
I'll find him.
I've calmed, I've settled,
this time it'll work out.
