Summary
Phainon fucked up pretty bad; ordered the wrong batch of items by mistyping the serial code by two numbers—a mistake that cost the company a near 800,000 balance coins. Phainon was by no means incompetent, quite the opposite, but his stoic boss had been drowning him in project after project and his sleep schedule had taken a hefty hit; a mistake this dire was bound to happen eventually. Regardless of who’s fault it was, the blame all rested on Phainon and brought him before his boss, Mydei.
“Kneel.” He says, his back facing Phainon as he stands behind his desk.
Phainon almost laughs in disbelief before he realizes that Mydei is wholly serious.
