Work Text:
The day started as any other would
No inkling of what would happen later
He got up tired as he always did
And got ready for his job as waiter
Rewind
The day starts again, anew
A day started as any other would
No inkling if what would happen later
He got up tired as he always did
And got ready for his job as waiter
Again
Once more the day restarts
Rewind
The day starts again, anew
A day started as any other would
No inkling if what would happen later
He got up tired as he always did
And got ready for his job as waiter
A blue flash of light in the distance
Not too different from his own magic
He sees it in the distance this time
Before the day restarts again
Leaving him with no memories of it, so tragic
Another day
The same day but again
He wakes up with a weird feeling
Wondering whether to go to work or not when
He looks outside
A blue flash
His memories gone once more
Just like ash
He had a dream this time
A feeling of deja vu
He doesn’t go to work this time
Telling his coworker who covered for him thank you
This time he goes for a walk
Something pulling him towards the planetarium
But on his way
He’s too late
And his memories once more don’t stay
His alarm goes off
He calls his coworker
Fakes a cough
And just like that he’s gone
Walking faster this time
He won’t be caught unaware
Being prepared is no crime
So when the blue comes
He makes a quick choice
And throws up his own shield of blue
His alarm
A familiar noise
He’s in bed but how?
Only a second ago
He’d been outside, sun on his brow
And now?
He sighed
And went downstairs to the bookstore
Hoping there would be answers
There that he was looking for
The blue flash came again
And he was prepared again
So he looked at the the time
Noting exactly when
He had to place a barrier
The next time
He decided to investigate
But got no further than
Seeing the Trollhunter and having to wait
He wasn’t going to interfere
With the Trollhunter’s fate
So he let it be
And made the most of it
The blue flash again
He’d decided this was a good thing
He could catch up on sleep
And do anything
Have fun for once
Not worry about chores
Chores that if he did
Would just be undone again so what was the point
He spent time with Zoe
Even if she wouldn’t remember
But he had fun
Almost became a council member
Got arrested once
But with a smile on his face
As the day reset
Over and over again
He was happier than he’d ever really been before
Then the last time came
Not on time so he didn’t prepare
But he had fun
Getting a breath of fresh air
The next day when he awoke
He had no memories once more
But he had a sense
A dream where he had fun, just like before
Before everything went wrong
Before when he was happy
And so though he didn’t remember
He still went along his day
Happier than ever
